Seret, Garralow, Typhus, Jabe/Coi (He's going for sure, but doesn't realize it yet) and I are going to be there.

If any of you are going to be there, would you like to meet up for a drink and maybe a bite to eat one night?

Geez, have you guys ever been to GenCon? We could roll around in dog crap, spray ourselves with a skunk, set off stink bombs in our pockets and still smell like roses compared to most of the people there.

Normally I would never admit to having attended a GenCon.. but Milwaulkee is less than a 90 min drive from me and I was talked into going a few years ago.

Hint: "Your sorecerous ways have not allowed you to conjure up the stolen data tapes..." He was the nicest guy. We spoke for a while and I got a great picture of him choking the person I went there with. What a good sport.

I also met Anthony Daniels, but he irritated me. I am tall and he asked me to bend down so I would not be taller than him in the picture. How lame is that?

I had a slightly better experience at a Wizard World getting Jeremy Bulloch's (Boba Fett's) autograph. I asked him to sign the picture of Boba Fett "To Tom and Dark 13 Studios" so I could one day hang it up in my profession art studio. He responded in a strong british accent "Christ! You want me to write all that??!!" Then he followed "Just kidding, mate."

The only sour thing about it was they only allowed you to get something signed if you purchased it from them. You had to buy a photo, no getting your favorite action figure signed or movie. They said it was some sort of legal crap. Sounded stupid to me.

I remember when I went to a NovaCon(startrek) About 8 years ago.

Man I got all kinds of shit signed by Nana Visitor, and Robert Duncan McNeil.

That was a good time. A few wierdo's but a very good experiance overall.

As an aside, for awhile, Acen (Anime Central) used "Got Soap?" as their theme. They gave away free soap with registration, and their website could be linked to via www.gotsoap.org .

Ironically, Anime cons are the best smelling/best looking ones I've ever been to.

Ha! I was at the ACEN where they started the Got Soap campaign. They literally had to ask people that smelled REALLY bad to leave and get washed up before they return. I watched a security guy repremand this extremely huge guy in a grease-stained Appleseed t-shit and beard that makes Peter Jackson look like Hugh Jackman. It was a riot.

ACEN may have better hygene but much creepier folks because most of them are into the Hentai anime genre with girls in sailor outfits getting sexually accosted by tentacles from every direction. Most of them come to the Con dressed is said sailor girl costumes. Most of them men!

Seeing as how Indianapolis is 2 hours away... I probably still won't go to GenCon. I'm trying to cut every tie I had to that city. Had this been two years ago (MAYBE even last year), me being there would have been a no brainer.
