I can't even get the launch pad working.. I loaded around 9am this morning and it was fine but now the launch pad locks up during the very first initial loading screen. Anybody know whats up?

Did you just upgrade to SP2 for XP?
Or are you using a new firewall?

I had the same thing happen and it was cause the firewall was blocking swg launchpad from accesing the net.

I'm just now attempting to fire the game up for the evening and it's trying to Scan for Updates and it's trying to download a bunch of crap titled like "chatscroll" and "popup" something blah blah blah.

Now given today I did just install SP2...but why would it be trying to DL these weird named files? It keeps getting stuck DLing these things and doing nothing.

it is cause they upgraded the load screen for the jtl portion of the game gettin it ready for launch you just have to keep trying

So is mine I thought it was just JtL updates to the launchpad.. hmmm...

SP2 Should have nothing to do with that.. but.. so you kow when you do start the game and it tries to access the internet you will need to tab out and hit accept on the "do you want to block this program" popup.

There it goes. Um, wow.

i had the same problem it took a couple trys but i got it i have been on for a while waiting on you all

If you look close at the new launch pad... you can't find the SOE anywhere.... only Lucas Arts.... hmmm.....

i will have to look at that when i relog later

No SP2 here and I did get in once tonight, but the launchpad is very buggy and locks up most of the time. This is lame.

Just as an FYI, re-start your computer after you get the patch downloaded and before you login...having gone through 2 other major launchpad updates (and about 10 in beta before that), I found that this usually helps.

I was wondering why my friends list was so sparse last night.

Seems to be running ok now, I did a reboot like Zannon said and now its running like a charm. No wonder they're pushing this "bits" technology for downloads...

I loaded the new launchpad last night no problem and even logged out and logged back in once to switch characters.

But now I'm trying to log into tonight and I can't get past the initial "Connecting..." part. I tried a restart but no dice. Still gets locked up connecting and eventually gives me a "cannot connect to launchpad try later" message.

Even better, the official SWG site is down so I can't see any official updates about problems (not like they post them right away).

I can't even load JtL! No its not a connection problem, everything else is running fine. This is pissing me off because I've had a really rough day and all I wanted to do was unwind a bit with some gaming and now all I have to end the day with is frustration. I think I'll go break something.
