Don't get too discouraged. The Casino formula as is is a good one. It just depends on good people being there. So far we've had that. I know I wasn't there tonight but it sounds like your typical SWG bad element came along and ruined the part. So they're banned and we move it. Its no one's fault but the idiots. I think we all expected to get a few of them sooner or later.

Sorry to hear things went poorly. I had actually planned to attend this tonight because I thought it sounded really intruiging (I'd even read up on the casino game rules so I'd know what I was doing), and I also want to kind of start to slowly integrate my character into the Nocturnus scene, but I ended up staying out IRL later than I anticipated.

What exactly happened? Bad RP? Or did some griefers come along? Judging from what I read on the SOE forums, I really get the impression that Gorath isn't RP-friendly at all.

I'm really glad you added this, because I started reading this topic like "Damn... Raggs you are really hurting the movement."

I agree that the Imperial intervention went on a bit long, but it was all free form and I didn't expect as many people to get actively involved as did. I didn't want to cut anyone off who was trying to RP with me, and I was getting a lot of RPer's. That added in with random tells I was getting, and I will freely admit I may have stretched things out too far.

What happened, though? I came by with another character and it seemed like everyone was outside.

I actually had a great time with the Imperial Intervention and the RP I got involved with because of it. It was great because I got to pretend that I didn't speak basic, (and Ekade really helped with that one... I almost got hauled off ) So I'm not sure I know what went wrong...

Everyone I spoke to thought the night was very enjoyable, especially the Imp part. It was a tad long, but I totally understand your reasoning. Imperial Oppression is not supposed to be convenient for the oppressed.

Later in the evening some individuals arrived whose "RP" was intended to give people a hard time. The key to dealing with this people is to not give them what they want, which is attention. They will get bored and leave.

I am partially to blame. I started to interact with them IC. The RP evangelist in me wanted to be encouraging. It seemed like they were sort of RP'ing for a short time. However, this did not last. Oh well, live and learn.

See...a long time ago I befriended key people in the "idiot" guilds, and now when they come to the roba, i have them handled by the guildleaders because i'm friends.

for Crim I had griggs, for ADV i got Digi, Stza, Xispin, for DI I got Dragonfist...

anyway...a lot of times I can get them to stop and move on if its certain guilds...



also it never hurts to threaten to beat their asses

Ok, I'm glad it wasn't the Imperial Oppression that turned people off. I try to make an effort not to step on any toes and that's why I wanted to talk to Zannon to get his ok before I did it.

As far as it going long, I will take full responsibilty for that. There were a few times I was going to wrap it up, only for someone to come to me with a new piece of evidence or twist on things. Because I was enjoying myself and the fact that more and more people were getting involved, I did not pay attention to just how much time we took up. I didn't notice it until I left Nocturnus and looked at the clock.

I want to say thanks to all that participated because I can't get things like this going without your help. If Zannon wouldn't have cleared out his Casino, or if people wouldn't have cooperated with it being "closed," or if people just wanted to rebel against the Imperial force it wouldn't have gone off so well.

I'm sorry if we lost a few new ones Zannon, but I can definately tell you we gained a few as well. Right before you cleared out the Casino, Fisce Zon sent me a /tell asking about what type of things SWGTales does as events and whether or not they were just going to fade away. I told Fisce to get to Nocturnus pronto and I know we now have Fisce and the person who came along.

I would also like to say that although I wasn't there for the "problem" time, I can imagine what the problem was. Although they were in stormtrooper armor, Eko and Macks were not with me. I thought they were with Griggs, but he said he didn't know them. I asked Zannon to unban 'Jake because although he did something incredibly stupid, he had asked me about the casino previously to that night and I wanted him to have the opportunity to see it. I hope me vouching for him did not lead to another incident.

All in all, I had a great time last night. I came back to actually play as a different character, but it seemed as if things had ended. Don't take away the casino because it is truely a great idea.
