Here's the song listings for the radio stations in GTA: San Andreas (comes out next week). What I really like about this soundtrack is the same thing I liked about the Vice City soundtrack... they're mostly B sides. Not the all the most popular songs from the artists that you could very well be sick of but rather the 2nd most popular or below. Really makes for a nice compilation.

Such a telling post....

Either way, I told myself I wasn't going to get all hyped up about GTA:SA because there was no way they could top Vice City. The sheer amount of fun just noticing all of the 80's jokes and cliche's made the game. I figured San Andreas would be WAY too serious in comparison.

Unlike Vice City, though, I am seriously torn between radio stations. I mean, how does a man make a choice between Rick James "Cold Blooded" and Bel Biv Devoe's "Poison?" It just shouldn't be done.

Something else very strange. On Monday I was flipping through files here at work and I saw a client of ours was my 7th grade Drama teacher, for which my group did a rendition of Guerillas in the Mist for performance. I was singing it all day Monday and Tuesday, now I see it will be in game.

All I want to know is....

Where's the 2 Live Crew??!!

When I heard about this game, the era it's set in, and some of the features, I knew it would be a contender for my play time. In fact I'm happy that I don't have Playstation, but XBox so I won't have to juggle my games sooner rather than later! Then the left hook to the ribs of Worlds of Warcraft..."Hnnggghh"! Oh, the pain.

Now I see this list and my music tastes range most of the spectrum. Nice bonus! "Green Onions" by Booker T and the MG's!! My Dad made me love that one on Sundays. Good driving song. Maceo, James Brown, Eric B. & Rakim, & Creedence Clearwater Revival (I'm playing "Green River" now). Smell that funk! The dance breaks alone will take a good chunk of my game time.

And you're right about The 2 Live Crew. I know they have to make the cut somewhere but "Break It On Down" is a decent B-Side and clean enough to play if they are even concerned with that (Too Short? Hello).

Personal Landmark Songs: "Keep On Movin'" by Soul II Soul and "It's Funky Enough" by DOC. College freshman year I made a mixtape of those together. Ahh, the memories. I was pissed off to the highest of pisstivity when Soul II Soul broke up.

I played a lot of GTA3 and never really played Vice City. The one radio station that I listened to in GTA3 is the talk show station; I would always flip to that station everytime I got into a car. Even though I could almost recite the entire loop, it was still funny as hell time after time.

I don't know if they had a station like that in VC, but I sure hope the have one this time around.
