Faction Uniforms
you know what really burns my buns? the lack of respect SOE has for us officers....dont you think when we dress up in our fancy faction uniforms we should be able to show off our rank? no damn rank badges. and im a colonel
wonder if that is something SOE plans on fixing in the near future.

Give the Rodians some respect first ;)
But seriously, I'd like to see the officer outfits have better damage value than composite. I hate going from planet to planet and seeing nothing but composite. For Ringo, he's more frightened of a soldier wearing an Imperial outfit over a composite armor suit.

As you very well should be. If you see someone overt in uniform, they are one of two things. Either they are cannon fodder or they are PvP guru's.Ringo Montgomery wrote:For Ringo, he's more frightened of a soldier wearing an Imperial outfit over a composite armor suit.
For the longest time I NEVER wore armor and just stayed in my custom Imperial Uniform. This "custom" Uniform consisted of the Imperial Uniform Pants and boots, but the jacket and gloves were tailor made and they were loaded with skill tapes. I don't know if you all remember, but in July of last year skill tapes used to drop almost as much junk items on Rebel missions (this is back when not many people actually did faction missions). While PvPing, I was always in uniform and I was pretty formidable. Not only that, but I had a very early shield gen (16% to energy, 12% to a few other types) and that also helped. If the weapon you were attacking me with didn't at least have AP1, your damage was halved. These of course were all of my little PvP secrets, and I was killer in PvP.
Either way, in my opinion, Imperial Uniforms shouldn't have damage modifiers, but the Stormtrooper armor should be the best in the game, second MAYBE to Madalorian due to its rarity. Of course this will never happen because there would be far too many complaints from the d00ds.

Personally I think it's kinda sad that people in uniform get so little back up on respect a lotta times. It just doesn't fit with the SW universe. Even if you're a big bad sonb*tch, in general you don't cuss out the law enforcement unless you have a deathwish or you're high as a kite. You mumble stuff under your breath and give 'em nasty looks after they leave, but...you know. Other than that, there should be NO spitting, yelling, heckling of any kind around Imperial presence...

I agree about the ST armor. Sure in the movies all it took was one blaster bolt to the chest with a CDEF carbine to take one down so I guess they reflected that in the game but lets be fair here. If you have to go overt to wear a certain type of armor it should rock. Do the same for Rebels but PLEASE make it better looking than the retarded Marine armor. If you're gonna call it Marines shouldn't they actually look tough?
I also think we need some more options on armor. Right now there is only one, Composite. Who can blame everyone for having the same armor? Its the best, no contest. What the devs need to do is make either new types of armor thats spreads the scope a bit. For example, keep composite but introduce 3 new types of armor. Each one capable of the high kinetic and electric damage but spread out the secondary resists. Make one set better and deflecting energy, another heat and another blast, acid and other.
If not that then just give composite armor some new cosmetic feature options. Even if its just the ability to add certain types of fins, tubes and visors to helmets, other chest plate styles and so on it would at least let people feel more unique.

I personally think the best thing they can do with armor is give every armor one vulnerability. No armor should be able to resist everything. Say Composite is vuln to energy, Blast to Acid, Tantel to Kinetic, etc... That way you would really have to think when armoring up. Also, I think armor should have some restrictions, ie. no specials or something like that. With Doc buffs the way they are, HAM encumberance is a joke.

I agree with you guys, but my personal opinion will always be that armor shouldn't even be in game. I man, other than the STs and the occasional bounty hunter or two, how many folks did you see walking around in full armor?

It isnt wise to threaten a imperial officer, you just might find yourself locked in a cell on dathmor.

That wasn't threatening at all....I mean, if your speeder blows up and no one is around to see it.... 8-)
