Nyase and Military Deployments...

Nyase,

Been in that spot buddy. I'm former Air Force (6 years) and have done deployments in 5 countries.

There weren't any MMORPG's back then (signed up in 1992  Ya' know back when a 14.4 kbs modem was fast!) so at least be glad that you're not playing umpteen hands of umpteen different cardgames :D !

Not that cards can't be fun, but me and my RL friends have played several video games together...and I can't remember the last time we played cards.

Are the chow halls still as good on deployment as they used to be? If it's one thing that I do miss about the military it was Air Force chow! MMMM-mmm! (picture John Belushi in the film Animal House  )

I'd be interested in knowing how you're doing, troop! Keep us all posted.

Heh. It's one of the perks of working comm. hehehe. As far as the food goes, the stuff here isn't the best. The fish is great, but that's about it really. There's a couple of guys here also into SWG, but they're all on differnt servers. (Not to mention didn't bring theirs. hehehehe). This reminds me, I should probly try to figure out what mountain time is so i can set my time on this thing accordingly.

I had a feeling you were Communications. I worked Signals Intel in Japan, one of the guys "on the other side of the door."

Good tour, Japan, if you can snag it. Nothing like watching "Monday Night Football" on Tuesday morning!

They're heavy into MMO's too.

My prior experience with getting choice assignments is this:

Keep asking 10 times and you'll probably get 10 "NO's". But once you'll get a "maybe" or even a "YES". When that happens, make it stick and don't let go of it. Get to the point where you're known on a first name basis with the people in Personnel.

This kind of thing happens all the time and it works. The persistence pays off.

Then you'll get to Japan and never want to leave! LOL

The Japanese hookers...the fact that they think all Americans are virile sex gods...

Heh. I'd be too deep into the games to worry about that. Gotta have your priorities man.

Also from prior experience, the second half of that statement eliminates your needing the first part. Patronizing a hooker in Japan would be like buying sand at the beach. :D

Either that or you were searching discount air routes to Asia! [/quote]
