JTL Questions

1) Does anyone know why I cannot see certain people in space? I made repeated attempts to go into space and group with a friend so we could go kill things together. I was never able to see my friend even though we are at the same coords.

In addition, I would see a particular NPC spawn that he would not. Were we in seperate instances of space?


2) After getting to level 1-1-1-1, the Rebel pilot trainer told me to go to Yavin for my next assignment. Does anyone know where the Rebel Pilot contact on Yavin is?

Go to yavin labour outpost and he is in the cantina i believe but he is at that outpost just go into every open door cause he is right by the door

OOH! TY.. You just saved me a ton of searching. I was preparing to go to the temple of Exar Kuhn to see if he was at the Rebel Themepark area. That would suck if he was there and I would have to swoop 5k back and forth between every mission.

I don't believe any enemies are instanced. The past few times I've fought Black Sun pirates another Privateer has come along to attack them as well. It's probably yet another bug. Gee, so many bugs after a release? Is this even possible?! Say it ain't so! /sarcasm off

Well everyone knows how happy I am with JTL... The space bug seems to be that when people who launch from different starports and rendezvous will never see each other. I tried this with Norel on day #1 and it didn't work. I even used /findfriend (which works in space) and we both confirmed that we were right next to each other - oh well. When we both launched out of Bestine it was fine.

I am not really that mad right now, I am at a point where I have to sit back and laugh about it. I should have known better. I was so pleased with the ground publishes for 10 and 11 I just assumed that SOE may have finally gotten their act together.

I am actually quite pleased with JTL. I got bored to death with the beta. With JTL, I can't wait to play it.

I am not sure if this space instancing is a bug or if it is by design and they just have not told us how it works. I have heard theories that it has something to do with the current tier you are on. If this is the case, I wish they would tell us this stuff so we would know what to expect.

If they, by design, made space multidimensional - I would die. I mean really, from and RP perspective that is tough to play around. But you might be right because I have always felt that the space lanes seem to be incredibly empty and the fact that people are instanced apart might be a good theory.

Maybe they are doing this for launch so that the general populace can level up in to their professions easier? And then combine later? Then maybe this makes sense, maybe I am just crazy.

My problem is the cockpit view mouse bug. My first JtL spaceflight consisted of me sitting in one spot trying to turn my ship. Instead I got pan views inside of my cockpit and outside around the ship when I distanced the camera. Reminded me of XvTie when you got your Astrogation destroyed I know this is a legit feature, but how to reverse it?

Jabe and I had this problem during Beta, but one day it just went away...

Is there a command that I missed or any bug spray for this?

I found that of I start my game when the joystick is plugged in all the flight controls get mapped to it automatically. And the mouse is set to only control your character inhise the ship. When I start the game without my joystick plugged in the mouse has flight controls mapped to it.

Hi folks,

Currently the way it works is this: All newbie missions go to one instance of Tatooine, Corellia, or Naboo. After you have progressed beyond that, you go to the other instance. Which is probably why you can't hook up with more experienced players in these zones.

This was done to reduce the possibility of people being denied entry into Space when we launched JTL. We are analyzing the loads daily, and as soon as they decrease enough we will collapse them back into single zones.
