Can someone explain to me how droids work?

I have been flying without one, but I am getting worried that I am missing out on a potential advantage?

I've kinda been avoiding them because 1) I have no clue about them, and 2) equipping that droid interface puts me over my energy limit.

my craft has always been over energy load, and i haven't had any problems (700 units over actually) just have to be careful

when you get a droid, you also have to get an unprogramed data disk from a DE, on here you put your special droid moves you have acquired, then put disk in droid, then droid into craft

THEN the special moves show up in ctrl-a space tab, THEN you can drag them to your hotbar and use them like any other special

You can actually go OVER your energy limit? Cool! I had no idea.. I saw the red numbers in the "Manage" interface and assumed that meant I was doing something very wrong.

So I just need 1 astromech droid with 1 umprogrammed disk? Does the 1 disk hold all the moves, or is it 1 move per disk? As I gain more "moves", do I need to buy more disks or can I add them to the existing one(s)?

1 disk can put on all th emoves you currently have, but if you get new ones, gotta get another disk, and make sure you get a droid for your level, i have a lvl 6 i can't use until master pilot, and i need 11.9 million more xp for that, and i'm 2/3/3/2

So you are saying I need to buy a new droid for each level?

no, but each lvl you get certed for a higher lvl droid, the higher the droid and the higher the droid interface, the faster/better the special move will go

Gotcha.. so the question becomes, is it worth it to wait? If I wait, will I be kicking myself in the future saying, "Why did I not get one of these earlier?"

Only if I could find a good DE..

Still waiting for him to make me a couple stinking storage droids. I placed the order about 2 weeks ago.

If he is up for making one, I will certainly buy it.

Must be where he works, I know of a certain co-worker of his that owes me some grenades and was working on a certain swg web site thats not done. :lol:

Sweet! Sorry for being so nice the last couple of days. I see now that I have to work harder to maintain my doghouse status.
