From frustration to Elation

I had been breezing through my Privateer missions for the Jabba faction pretty easily until I hit the last Tier 3 mission. I had to go and kill some Dragon Clan ships, and I was not prepared for what I found.

2 separate spawn points where each spawn had 3 Tier 5 ships with 5 Tier 3 ships backing them up. I got my butt blwon out of the air two straight times, got frustrated.. and then got down to thinking up some strategy.

I bought a couple of great blasters from Cista (Thanks a bunch) and headed back out to do battle again. This time, I focused on the Tier 3 support craft, blew as many as possible out of the air, and desperately hit my IFF scramble ability. This ability is awesome! They stop aggroing you for a long time.. long enough to fully heal my shields and catch my breath. I was able to line up my next target and launch a sneak attack to take out the Tier 5 ships without the pesky Tier 3's shooting up my tail.

I'm totally pumped. I cant wait to get my Lv4 ship.

Congrats to you! I remember seeing you in Eisely last night with alot of moldy HAM. :-D

I have a feeling that we all will be stretching our creative limits in missions to come.

Question:

Can I map commands like IFF scramble to my joystick? I just have a ton of extra buttons that I'd like to use for more practical dogfighting uses.

If it's anything like the ground you can map them to the stick....

Make a macro using your desired command (even if it's already on your Ctrl-A abilities list). Then bind it under the custom tab of your interface mapping menu (in Ctrl-O options).

Thanks for the peek at what is to come. I better get my game face on if I plan to survive those encounters in my tin can. Ol' Spynet training... on defence, the first priority is to reduce the number of weapons pointing at you. Sound simple, but is a deep concept in terms of strategic/tactical warfare (expecially if you are a concrete thinker in combat). It appears that you did this nicely.

Congrats. I'd love to take a swing on board your YT when you get there.
