I am officially done with space

No, I didn't master pilot. I'm just sick of wasting my time up there.

I get home at 12:30 and decide to blow off everything so I can do one thing, and that's just do my next mission. I find one person who can help me, but they have to help someone else first. No problem, they invite me along and we go to do the mission.

Unfortunately, this guy likes to attack stuff around Yavin that has nothing to do with his mission, so he dies. He goes to get it again, we advance in it, and he dies again. I'm about ready to bail, but I get conviced to give it another try, then we finally succeed.

Now, I land and ask griggs to meet me for my mission. He's held up on Dant, so Fisce suggests we do her really quick. Well, maybe if you consider the entire course of human evolution, an hour and a half seems "pretty quick."

Finally, when we get done with that, Griggs has to log so I'm left with Fisce and a guy I've never seen before. I wait for Fisce to get trained, only to find out she's trying to wait for someone else to trade off ship components. After around 15-20mins of waiting, I decide to go at it with the other guy and Fisce can catch up.

So, we're fighting and doing ok. Fisce catches up, and brings along the person she was waiting with, who is another Zon (not Teomai). Cool, not an issue.

Well, we go through this whole mission thing, which is taking awhile. We meet shuttles, kill rebels, find shuttles, escort shuttles, now we have to capture a rebel vessel that has a ton of firepower. No prob, with the four of us, it shouldn't be hard to disable.

Before we get there, I say "Hey, don't destroy this ship, we need to disable it." We get a great attack vector going in and disable it in one pass. No one really takes any damage. Cool.

Then I see it blow up. I ask why this person (guy I don't know) blew the shuttle up when I specifically said not to. "Oh sorry, I didn't see that." Whatever, we'll just wait for the next one. "Everyone, we have to disable this ship, so don't destroy it" Well, since we're not flying in, we have to take on this ship which spawns around behind us, and it starts to kick our collective asses. No problem, the numbers get it. We're shot all up to hell, but we manage to get the ship disabled.

Then I see it blow up again. The person Fisce brought did it. I don't say anything. We'll just wait for the next one. Well, the next one hits us head on and I'm taken out fast. Mission failed. I look at the clock and it is 5pm. I've just wasted four and a half hours trying to get a mission done, only to realize there are nothing but idiots in space.

After getting back on the ground, I send a tell to the guy asking, why he did it, after I said twice not to. "Where did you say that?" I ask if he's heard of this thing called group chat.

"Oh, I didn't see it."

I'm officially done with space. I will be giving away all of the stuff that Nyase doesn't want. Give me a day or so and I'll have a house with it all set up so it can be viewed. It's first come first serve.

I just spent $30 so I don't have to wait for a shuttle.

Don't let the idiots get you down. Try flying with some of the Imps from Nocturnus...we're friendly folk.

Bilko, Abos, Jabe/Coiyonite and a few others are all Imp and are great to have in a group.

Hell...as soon as I get Zannon set up 100% with selling ships and such, I'm planning on buying Nutrinous JtL so he can cause havoc on the Noct folk in space and he's Imp....kinda.

Try hooking up with a guy named Kincaide, if you ever see him on. He's a good guy and he was having a frustrating night with the Imp missions, too.

But also remember that neutrals would be able to help you with your missions, or they should be able to. And hell, Rebels would be able to if you were fighting pirates.

Don't get disheartened, man.

There are alot of idiots playing the ground game also. If you need some good pilots, get in touch with the good people from Nocturnus. I will even offer my services as a wingman, and waive the 100K fee (Don't tell Novall.. he likes to get paid for everything :) )
I've been really enjoying myself in space. I have yet to try grouping yet, and I find the practice is doing me good in helping me refine my dogfighting skills. Currently at 3-3-3-3 and over halway to my first lv4 skill box.

Tram, I'm off work tomorrow and will be back from my job interview around 4pm. We can set up a squad and make the run with you again. You know we do it right :)

Sheesh. I finally get JTL, and you're bugging out already. You ever need a wingman, I'm there for ya. Granted, atm I'm rather sucking at 1111, but I'm there for ya.

BTW, you know there's a bag of stuff for you in Storage Facility A, right? It's in a bag right next to the other bag for you.

Well, obviously, Tramel anyone could see what really happenned here.

I've thought up some RP reasons why your missions went wrong.

To help ease your mind:

The destruction of the Death Star left a great gap in experience for the Imperial Navy starfighter corps. 167,216 pilots and support crew and 7,200 starfighters were lost over Yavin 4 (according to SW.com Databank). Surely the Empire will recover and reallocate personnel, but in these times so soon after the loss some units have had to fill the ranks with third string pilots (the guy you didn't know  ), raw recruits (Fisce's friend), and sub-standard back-up starfighters (the one you were flying when you got fireballed). The only saving grace has been senior officers who've had to take line positions to shepherd these rookies along (you).

To make you laugh:

There was nothing wrong with what your flight members did. If any blame is to be placed, only one person can be held responsible...

The Cloaked Figure!

Yes, it was the Cloaked Figure from the old TIE Fighter Game that Fisce's friend contacted when she was "catching up". The Cloaked Figure told your flight mates that it was the Emperor's direct will that they destroy the shuttle...twice.

Those craft were secretly carrying leaders of anti-Palpatine network and must not have been allowed to survive! Had you carried out the mission successfully you may have been branded a possible accomplice. HA!

Seriously, Tramel, hang in there. Not to beat the dead horse, but as everyone has said you just hooked up with a cowboy or two.

C'mon! You HAVE to acknowledge how good this expansion is on it's own merit. Seriously, I'm amazed and relieved that a gaming experience sucked and it wasn't due to the shortcomings of the game, but the players. That's an improvement for SWG. Everytime that I've played so far I can't believe the good feeling that I experience for SOE.

You've heard the adage "Don't hate the Player, hate the game."? Well, in your case, JtL has flipped that 180. There's only one JtL game, but you can always find more players. ;)

I feel bad for Tramel cause I think we got him all the way to the end of his mission...and he went LD. Let me tell you this was no easy mission either. around 12 waves of 6 of every type of rebel fighter in JTL.

I have had the worst time getting through the Imperial academy myself. THe missions have been frustrating and seemingly futile at times. One of my first Tier 2 missions has me pinned up again 7 x-wings and a YT-1300. Is this supposed to be done solo? I don't know. Not to mention I ran around Nym's stronghold for 2 hours buffed and fighting (-5000 nym faction), looking for my contact to give me the mission.

I ran the mission thinking there would be fewer x-wing escorts. But alas, it was a small squadron. My ship is obliterated, 0% chassis, etc.. Zannon crafted me a new one, I told him that I got certified for TIE/In (whatever that is), we both though it was a TIE interceptor... WRONG. I couldn't unpack the ship and I blew the last of Zan's resources on it.

I guess what bothers me now, is that I gotta sit on the ground and grind rancor missions again so I can get money to finance getting back in to space, in turn so I can grind up there again. If I don't do that I can't get a hyperspace capable ship so I can unlock boxes and therefore I get no xp for playing in space anyway.

I really don't enjoy ranting.. really I don't. I didn't rant about XvT. :)

That Tie Interceptor won't go to waste, it'll just get sold to whoever wants one next. The Tie/In is just a non-Light Duty Tie but you probably figured that out by now.

If its true that Privateers can attack anyone and anything then I'll gladly help anyone with Imp missions. Last night was another good time flying with Skarr and Jotun completing 1 of Skarrs missions, 2 of mine, and 2 of Jotuns. I will say this, Tie Interceptors are faster than Jabe in a room full of morticians.

Ok, ok.... maybe my exit of space is a little hasty, but you guys can't possibly understand how pissed I was yesterday. I can only remember being this pissed at the game one time, and that was when I was in Theed with my Darktrooper (who was 10k faction back then), where I fought and killed an overt rebel. He came back with the revenge TEF (which I knew nothing about at the time) and kept spamming a knockdown shot on me and my trooper. I'd make it like 2 feet, he'd knock me down, then my trooper, then me, then heal. There was nothing I could do except sit there and watch my trooper die.

Besides, I can't give up space until I fly a mission with my Field Commander.

Oh I think a few of us can. Lets do the math...

Number of hours played since launch of SWG + number of idiots on the server past and present + Italian temper = ANGERPALOOZA

We don't feel your pain, Tramel. We share it, bud.

Yea, I got the craft. It's rather nice. Especially shields. Wore out the armor on that starter POS with too many head to head passes. Provided a bum doesn't come by to play halo, i'll be up there tonight. hell, i fi go to PT now, i'll be up there in 40 min.
