College Hoops!

Ok, its coming down to my favorite season, college hoops.

I know a lot of people despise B-ball but nothing gets me as excited as College basketball. I attended the University of Kentucky for a short stint and I am a Wildcat through and through. Although I don't think any Tubby Smith team can compare to the Rick Pitino teams I watched while at UK.

Who else loves college hoops? November 11th is when the season kicks off. And although I am still watching my Steelers religiously I am looking forward to HOOPS BABY!

I just love watching the SEC and the ACC. IMHO they are the best two conferences in the nation. I was a big Duke fan, and still root for them if they don't play UK, way back in the eightees.

Lets argue about something non political for a while. I need something to debate and still have fun. =)

Being from Chicago, I used to like basketball ingeneral in the mid 90's. The only team I even remotely check in on is DePaul cause its my old school.

They usually field a decent squad. nothing to be ashamed of there. Was there a big inner city rivalry there? I know philly has big 5 teams which consisted of the former big five in the city of Philly. They are usually really good games because of the old school rivalries.

BIG FIVE:

LaSalle
Penn
St. Joseph's
Temple
Villanova

Maybe its because of a lack of coverage here in Canada, but I'm an NBA guy myself. I don't get excited about college basketball unless we're talking March Madness and Arizona is involved.

Pretty much. I mean its nice to watch college hoops and the not so spectacular teams where the kids are playing for the love of the game and not the money that they will make in the pro's.

And I just can't stand all the assholes who think their shit doesn't stink in the NBA.

Yeah, there are quite a few bad apples in the NBA, not to say they don't exist in every sport (Terell Owens anyone?). I guess I just like the skill level in the NBA and watching guys like Paul Pierce come back from being stabbed 22 times to become one of the top 5 players in the game.

I'm not arguing that college ball isn't high quality or impressive, I guess the exposure to NBA ball here got me on board with it.

Go Celts
