The Fiendish Plot of John Adamek...or How I got you to RP...

Good Morning Citizens,
Back in December when I created this character, I was just about burnt out with SWG (although I would have never admitted it at the time). I had maxed out what I wanted to do with my main character and had 1 character point left. I had very few weapon skills and never felt very productive while on group hunts.
For Christmas, SOE sent out buddy keys to get your friends to play SWG. So, as an experiment, I gave myself a buddy key and created Trayuse. From the get go, I decided he would be deadly in PVP and completely combat oriented, unlike my main character. I ground through master marksman and master scout in a week, then started on carbineer and bounty hunter. It was a great time, I was trying new skills and actually seeing something other than the crafting tool interface while playing SWG. Then I got an idea, "What if a player moved into Nocturnus that wanted to roleplay 100% of the time as an Imperial Governor keeping tabs on the pirates that reside on Lok?" So, I created a personality for Trayuse and the person playing him...and headed to Nocturnus and set myself up. Then I met all of you....

It was great, especially that first group trip to Lord Nyax's place. no one knew what to make of me.
Sure, I've had to fake connectivity issues, Trayuse buying a house and not having an ISP for a while, but it has been well worth it. I see the fruits of that lie (and it was a lie) everytime I look at these boards.
For the longest time, only X'an knew, and Trayuse was a great contributer to getting X'an to play again. Later, when I didn't want Seret to think I snubbed his first story arc, I let him know. For Mess'tar's story arc, I let Jabe know so we could crash the end game.
It really has been fun and I love the character I've made with Trayuse.
So, why am I giving up the charade now? It's because, with all the activity with RPers on Gorath and on this board, it's become too hard for me to keep up the illusion anymore. He needs to be in more events and take part in what we're doing here...and I can't play him and Zannon at the same time as often as I'd like (Seret has played him and I've actually macroed conversations between Zannon and him in front of people).
Trayuse was an experiment to see if I could get us all to RP in SWG like it was a PnP roleplaying game...and I have to say it worked. I'll continue to play him because I love the character and the fact that I can be 100% in character with him all the time without getting /tells about buying houses and furniture...but if anyone needs to use him for an event, they can let me know (and maybe even play as him).
So, to wrap things up...Trayuse never lived in San Diego, He doesn't live in Sydney, and he doesn't exist. He's John Adamek, the person behind Zannon.
The only truth about him is the fact that a player with the name Trayuse DID, right after launch, stop me on Rori while I was making a harvester run. He was in an Imperial officer uniform and had an ATST out. He asked for my identification and grilled me in-character for about 20 mins. It was great. He was the first real RPer I ever ran into while playing SWG. I guess you can blame him for being the inspiration behind my fever to make Gorath the coolest RP server. Apparently, his character is gone, because I was able to use the name when I created Trayuse.

How's this for a thread to break up the slow Fridays we usually have on the boards?
Oh, and if you still don't believe that Trayuse and Zannon are the same person, one of the admins can double check the IP addys these messages came from.

Hey, it's cool to have super secret characters that people don't know you're controlling. I have a couple myself.
As I told Ekade before, no one suspects the armored bothan.

The Trayuse experiment was a good read. It's cool that people have gotten into RPing. It was definitely lacking when i was playing back in December but is a large reason I've enjoyed myself since my return. Hopefully the expansion of Nocturnus will bring forth more outsiders. It's always fun to meet new characters.

Knowing the secret last New Years when we were all over at Dooo's house was the hardest thing. Dooo's going "oh yeah, we've got this guy from Australia who just RP's the whole time!"
I bit my tongue and just had to keep pretending I didn't know he was SITTING RIGHT NEXT TO YOU DOOO ;)

Wow(drops jaw). I had no idea. Very cool idea to involve people with roleplaying. I may try doing this more myself.

I let in on the little secret during the middle of my last RP event. Zannon didn't want me to think he was ditching my event, I guess he felt bad. After a few days or so suddenly every interaction I had with Trayuse came rushing back like a frieght train and I realized I had planned with Zannon to RP some stuff to set up Trayuse. My only reaction was "ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGH."

Well I see the secret's out. I found out the hard way when I went Imperial and I kept referring to Trayuse being on a long vacation in RP and stuff. I guess thats when you decided to level with me cause I wanted to get Trayuse highly involved.
I kinda liked keeping the secret alive though.

I still hope we RP him the same.
But I can understnd your want of a second char too. I am having a ton of fun with Coiyonite and doing othjer professions with him. Its awesome. I too am burnt out a bit, but have been renewed with my new character.

Am I going to have to pick up a 4th account now just to keep up? :P

Very slick, Zannon. Brings to mind Kevin Spacey in
The Usual Suspects.
**Zannon talking to Seret, a map of Australia on the wall behind Seret's shoulder**
Zannon: Yeah, man, this guy who plays Trayuse can trace his family line back to the Botany Bay penal colony. His Great Granddad was the prison warden so he's got the DNA to play Imperial Governor in Nocturnus..."
