SWG Tales

My character is based on me... being new to the RP crew, I have a mild dilemma.

I'm a moderate RPer, and love playing this game for the problem solving aspect (yeah MERCS, I know you guys are the professional problem solvers). The typical modus operandi for me is to find something fun, then explain it with RP. Still, I don't want to damage my character looking towards the day when his IC traits would mesh with a plot well.

Therefore my reason for posting in JtL is that I love to pilot. If anyone sees me online and wants a wingman, find an excuse to message me. My equipment is just making the transition to tier 3, but my skills are from back in the CGA monitor days of Microprose F-19 (old and text book). My char is friendly, but slow to warm up to most non-Bothans. I don't know what excuse will work with Glacial's char to get to fly with you all more often.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Otherwise, it'll just take time for me to make more contacts. So far it is going well. You've all saved a character from leaving the server for another. I still spend most time solo or in random groups, but recognizing characters is a big part of the game for me.

/think Oh... if only you could come grab me from the Roba.. that gives IC information to everyone in attendance that I'm a freelance pilot. I'll fly your wing, but I doubt you'll need the help in tier one. Then again, that level of detail may not be needed.

Glacial won't be able to see you. Because you're only starting tier 1 and he is past tier 1, you're going to spawn in a different instance of space than him.

Believe me, it sucks.

Not with the experiences I've been having....I've been grouped with everyone one flew out and only once did I actually see them. That one time I wasn't the group leader, so maybe that makes a difference.

I really hope they implement what I saw on the Test Center notes. They said they were gonna have a screen that would notify you if you were in the "beginners" instance of space.

Zannon, if you haven't done so already, I'd be willing to test this with you or Hash to see if some grouping tricks might help. I've heard both sides of that rumor.

For me, I kinda threw RP out the window when it comes to JTL. Ekade knows nothing about flying. She was born and raised on Ryloth and basically learned how to dance. Leading up to "in game life" she was taken from Ryloth by slavers.

During her career in-game she has basically danced, learned how to fight with a blade, and become a Priestess. (there was a hologrind perioid.. but I was not really roleplaying at that time)

For the life of me, I cannot think of a legitimate RP reason for Ekade to be a starfighter pilot, much less a good one. It is so completely OOC that I don't think I could think of a reason and still call it RP.

All my friends are in space, so if I were to be a strict roleplayer.. I would be very bored and lonely right now (kinda like when people started vanishing when JtL Beta came out).

I guess my best answer is that I am some rebel pilot in space.. and Ekade on the ground. If you call this bad RP, I will not argue with you.
