Hello all,
I've just registered on the forum and I wanted to say hello.

I am heavily into Roleplaying in Galaxies and I just created my character on the Gorath server to do just that. Someone told me about this place so I signed up. I look forward to meeting you all.

I look forward to meeting you in game. I have a character that is quite involved with Imperial operations and intelligence int he Karthakk system.

Alright! An Imperial Roleplayer on the scene. The few of our community will be happy to see you for sure.

Me being an espionage buff (among a dozen other "buffs") has always kept me interested in getting to know more about the Imperial Security Bureau (ISB), the Empire's intelligence arm.

In Episode 4 there's a short glimpse of an officer in the Death Star conference room (where Vader chokes Motti). He's supposed to be one of the ISB's top dogs. I would call up the link but I have to go. Anyway, it'll be cool to have some of that "Gestapo" feel in our community in addition to Tramel and Nyase's militarism.

You said it Keer. I wanted to be a different kind of Imperial. Vixor's role is not to police the galaxy for Rebel Scum (but he will stand up to fight them if called upon) but rather to gather information and intelligence. His base of operations is now in the town of Nocturnus which is perfect because of the criminal element. He has to blend in with them not oppose them.

If you think about it its criminals that have the best intelligence networks. They placate to both sides and people are more likely to talke to them than an Imperial or Rebel soldier or officer. So Vixor's job is to be a part of that network and decipher whatever intell he can gather.

If anyone has ideas of how to be more of an effective intelligence officer or would like to use Vixor or the Intelligence Headquarters in Nocturnus for RP or RP events please do. I'm always willing to get involved and help out.

The whole concept of "intelligence" is very rich with RP possibilities. Combat is usually shortlived and conclusive. Intelligence is something that can go on for a long time, and can be very deep.

Hello Vixor! Glad to see you signed up.

I see a lot of other people already said hello but nobody's plugged Nocturnus yet, so I'll do that. We're a pirate town that could use a good Imperial presence--lots of intelligence to be gleaned from there, I'd imagine. We feature a casino that runs every other Sunday with live dice games and slots, and several buildings with interestingly decorated interiors specifically for RPing. We have the Mercs and MidCo guilds in town and several guild-free folks for a multi-faceted community environment.

I forgot to mention.. I have a copy of the old West End Games Imperial Sourcebook from the PnP RP game. They have excellent writeups on the ISB and other good nuggets on the empire (The "Tarkin Doctrine" and all that good stuff.

In reading through the sourcebooks from that time, it is apparent that the devs took many of their ideas from those sources.

If you have a question relating to the ISB or some other facet of the empire (or the rebel alliance.. I have that book too), let me know and I can probably find the answer.

Ha! I just started a thread on stuff like that in Jibber, Ekade. I think I saw that one book once. It was good stuff.
