Well, a bunch of us used to play this game A LOT before SWG...it started off as the worst online game ever and evolved into a really nice piece of work, but by that time, they lost most of their subscribers. I really hope it takes off this time because the game is great and the devs working on it really do a good job.

May have to re-visit an old love some time soon....
I've been itching to check out the air combat now that visible damage is back.
Unfortunately, I might be getting in some freelance come January that would put a serious crunch on my already tight free time.
Let me know if you join in. I can at least come check it out at your place.

I actually never cancelled my account in the hopes that my $12/mo might be enough to keep them in business. I play about once a week for 2 hours...come check it out anytime you want.

I was looking forward to that game so much, got it the day it came out, and never played it after my trial month. It was so bad back then, but I've wondered how its been coming around.

It got really good after about a year...the flight model is the most realistic I've ever played, the tanks are near flawless and true to life down to most minute detail, and the ships (which now include Destroyers and transport ships) are really fun. The infantry engine is still a bit rough at points, but they are about to completely re-do it for the re-release.Ringo Montgomery wrote: It was so bad back then, but I've wondered how its been coming around.

It's a first person shooter, flight sim, tank sim, and warship sim all in one game. I'll get on and take some screen shots this weekend to share.Dwilah wrote:Sooo...what's it actually like?
It basically lets you play the invasion of France in 1940 as either the Germans, the French, or the British. You have to take over the map city by city to win...typically, it takes about 3 weeks for one side to win and then the map re-sets. The map is a 1/2 scale model of Central and Northern france, belgium, part of German, Holland, and SE England. The terrain is realistic enough that you can look at a topigraphical map of those areas and figure out exactly where you are in the game.
The only real draw back to the game is that you sometimes have to walk/fly/drive for about 10-20 mins to get to the action (if you're trying to re-inforce an area).
