Just wanted to know what you guys think considering most of the crap in SWG thats semi-decent is going loot only. So far it seems that all wanted poster's are looted from IMP NPC's which means rebels will become rich rather quickly since these are not a easy find on TC, Also the black sun ace helmet is a VERY rare drop. There is alot more crap that is also loot only but i thought i would ask you guys what you think personally i would like a mix of things like..
BH armor:
Looted: has higher resists and can be made in mando armor
Crafted: A bit lower resists and cannot be made into mando

Black sun ace helmet ( or any other they add)
Looted: Gives you a bonus to somthing like droid speed or less time to jump to hyperspace
Crafted: Just looks different

Also Anything crafted can have different colors and such unlike looted which is always whatever color it is when looted, but to me it seems that since in EQ everything good is looted thats what they want but that means that people likemyself that have a good amount of credits but are always fixing this doing that to keep things like Ship parts up to atleast par that of other players cant and wont have the money for new items placed in game unless we are VERY VERY lucky. I mean dont get me wrong the helmet yes i have a FAIR shot at getting but stuff like BH armor i dont, these new wanted posters,and art work i wont have a shot at cause for one they drop off of Imperial NPC's and its not a very high drop rate atleast from what i seen on TC. Novall i should be back intime to crash the meeting unless you canceled it

I'd like to see items RE'd from crafters, especially from FS crafters.

Personally, I hate the fact that ship part loots are so easy to cme by that it dilutes the market for crafted parts. I feel that looted parts that are better than what can be crafted should be rare.

As for other loots, I don't mind non-craftable loots that don't effect the market for the craftable stuff (like posters and stuff).

A good chunk of the best parts are tough to come by. I finally looted my first non RE'd 4k gun lastnight after playing fairly non-stop in space for almost a month. I do agree with Zannon though that they do dilute the market, and crafters should be able to craft items that are equal to looted parts. This would force REing to make looted parts that much better then crafted.

I'm with Zannon, I don't like how easy loot parts are to come by and lets face it most of us use at least one or two looted or RE'd parts in our ships because they are better. Overall I think Crafted items should always be better.

I like when looted items have good mods like DOT effect and skill mods but their stats are far worse than crafted items. To me thats the way it should be. As far as decoration only items go I say let 'em saturate the market. There is many of us out there who are treasure hunters, myself included, who get a lot of their income based on loot. I see that as being realistic. The concept of treasure hunting and selling is fun and exciting.

Being an ex-artisan, I can say I'm disapointed with the subpar quality of crafted goods vs. looted goods. In the four months I spent working my ass off with merchants, stores, advertising, and selling basic chef and artisan trinkets, I made just over a million dollars.

Enter Combat Medic and a couple of my RL friends going on a Nightsister hunt...

4 million dollars for myself in 2 days. I like that our economy is self sustaining, but crafters BADLY need to be thrown a bone. I loved crafting and miss it a lot, but it makes no sense for me to pick it up as a profession when I can make exponentially more by looting.

I also agree that better quality loots should be rare...I think some balancing is in order.

It seems SOE has changed their mind a little. The original concept was to have all crafted stuff be better than looted stuff.. but with JtL this is clearly not the case.

At the same time, good loot does make casual hunting more fun. Let's face it.. would Novall have 20 mil Prestige points if there was little motivation to loot in space?

For fun I started an imp pilot on another server to try their ships. I am glad the loot is good. If it wasn't.. If I had to rely on crafted parts, I would be hurting. A newbie simply cant afford crafted parts.

From a fun perspective, I think loot gives you a reason to keep flying. I know this affects SWs.. But I don't think they are really hurting atm.

I looted one good part out of the whole time I have been pilot and it is a capacitor that is cert three with 42 recharge and like 1000 something energy.
