Nextel and RP

I can't help but be reminded of my Nextel chirping when I get tells, it sounds strangely similar. So I say we all just RP that every character has a Nextel and uses the two-way feature. But for the sake of SWG we'll just call it "Next-tell".

Great idea, right? :)

Funny and at the same time has merit. I always thought of tell as private messages to our comms (whatever those look like). While e-mails go to our datapads the comm is a small handheld device the size of an MP3 player for person-to-person communication. I also imagined Comms can be set to convert voice to text and vice versa. Thats just me though.

Oh... and the first person to send me a /tell that says "Can you hear me now?" gets a shit-ton of Gurk crap dumped in their house.

Read my mind there, Jabe. From early in the game until recently I had this Macro in Keer's toolbar:

"Speaks calmly into his 'Tell-Phone'. Motions for you to hold on."

I still have it with 'CommLink' substituted for 'Tell-Phone' to try to keep it more RP. My original 6 real life friends that started the game with me gave me the nickname "Tell-Phone Tregga" from the early days when I used to try to hustle any and every deal imaginable.

Standing in the middle of Tyrena for hours never moving an inch playing middle man for deals, not earning one XP. Seems like a million years ago.

Remember, C3PO had a commlink in episode 3. It was the size of a very small mic.

I kinda envisioned it as that with a very small and practically invisible ear phone and throat mic for private conversations and the ability to project a holo image.

I've always played it like a comlink. I remember when I first meet Alonzo, he was recruting for the TTF and found me doining a roleplayer search. He sent me a tell askin if I roleplay and I promtly responded with who are you and what are you doing with my personal com-fequency.
