One of those golden moments...

Let me share a short story about what happened to me in game the other day...

I was in Mos Eisley and bumped into a twilek RP'ing with the NPC's. He is either insane or looking for some RP. So I bait the hook and do some emotes such as ":wonders why the tall twilek is muttering at the terminal".

He takes the bait and we start interacting. I tell him that he should not focus so much on the minor irritations in life but rather the love of the Goddess (you know.. the ususal BS I spew). This turns into a philosophical discussion that goes on for at least 30 min.

Now you know when you are on a roll when prople stop what they are doing to watch you RP... even better is when non-roleplayers start trying to get involved.

What topped it off was near the end I start getting tells from people I don't know thanking me and telling me they think I am doing great things for the game. This made me laugh in RL.

I know I am preaching to the choir here, but RP makes the game better for everyone. Take the time to interact with folks you don't know, you might find that magic and possibly even get other people to take notice.

This sort of thing recharges my RP batteries.

I always enjoy roping new RPers into my own situations. A lot of time people ignore you when you RP, sometimes they attempt to make fun of you and every once in a while that one person will step forward and let you know they want to RP as well.

I happened just last night. I was a bit out of it but I ran into Ekade in the starport and began a little RP. I was really lacking with my responses but I gave it some effort as best I could.

While I wasn't overt its pretty clear that Vixor is an Imperial by the Flight Suit he wears. While I was RPing with Ekade a player walked into the star port overt. He then stood next to me for a bit while I waxed philisophical with the Priestess. At this point I figured he would either crack a stupid joke or join in. At first all he did was use the Imperial Holoemote as if to say "I AM AN IMPERIAL TOO!! LOOK AT ME!!" I'm not sure what it was for really, his overt tag was enough to prove his affiliation.

But while we talked he actually stepped in a little bit. Maybe just the converstaion, not RP, interested him or maybe this was a nice change of pace for what he's used to doing in-game. Either way two simple players had just provided another player with something SOE has been lacking to give themselves..... real content.

I enjoy these moments more than anything and hope to have many more.
It makes every effort to RP worthwhile.

I am digging that fact that I run into so many of our community in Mos Eisley. It makes those spontaneous RP situations happen with pleasant regularity. It's sort of become the "unofficial spot" for random RP.

RP will always be better than "content". Interaction with a human cannot be replaced by a scripted dialog.

I have chosen Mos Eiseley as a destination quite a bit recently because of all the random RP that goes on there. I was RP'ing something in the cantina not too long ago and I started getting tells from people curious about my event. It was cool.

funniest golden moment happened after game went live...I was doing missoins out of doaba...and as always mostly deserted....and i got some BF i wanted to take care of so I went looking for a dancer...

I head to cantina and no one was there, but I see a dot in the back room, so I go there. I walk in and find a rodian there with a power droid. As soon as I walk in he points at me and yells, " YOU did it. Now youre gonna pay!"

I'm goin wtf? so we go back and forth for 5-10 minutes, me denying, him accusing etc etc...so I go, "So what did I do that offended you?"

he responds," YOU are the one who put garbage in my droid that resembles a trash can!!" and starts laughing his ass off...and then I do too...

so we just start talkin OOC, and then see someone else come in...he goes follow my lead...

we start accusing this new person of...plus they were german (or non-english speaking) and they were all confused and bewildered, and then quick ran out of there like we were gonna kick their ass or something...
