Okay, so I thought I'd start a little thread where we might share a little bit 'bout our lives and the Star Wars within. Maybe a specific thought, or how it impacts you. Yeah, I'm sappy like that.
I can actually remember being three years old and sitting in a South Carolina theater the summer my parents got divorced. My mom's awesome for that alone. Apparently, we'd moved there for the summer and I couldn't stop pointing at the poster, so she took me.
I love 'er for that.
Some of you might know that I've worked in the entertainment industry, and now make masks for teh l337 |-|allow33n collex0rz (And no shiz, some of them refer to their ilk as.. what I just typed). I thought I'd share some of what I'm working on since the Halloween season ended.

That's Nemesis from the Resident Evil 3 game/Apocalypse movie.

That's the beginning of a Zuckuss costume.

That's not only the beginnings of what I'll be wearing to Celebration III, but it's the mask I wear in SWG most of the time.
And lastly...

The extent of my geekdom knows no bounds.
I don't know if it's an urge to get to know you all a little better, or if it's been the evening I've had, or if it's the fond memories of my childhood and the realization that as much crap as GL's talked about, he and my mother inspired me at age three to do what I'll be doing for work and hobby for the rest of my life.
Sometimes sappy's good. So.. What about you guys? Got a RL Star Wars Tale for me?

You got me beat by a mile as far as "tangible geekdom". I don't have a vast collection of stuff, nor a personalized license plate.
My geekdom is more covert.. My daugter's middle name is Leia, we had Han and Leia on the top of our wedding cake.. things of that sort.
My daughter is 4 and I fear the geekdom is rubbing off on her. She absorbs everything...
Some examples:
- She recognizes most iconic SW characters.. She's know Darth for at least 2 years now
- I was watching a trailer for WoW the other day. She now wants to be a Night Elf that transforms into a panther.

As far as Star Wars on a personal level, I simply remember is as one of my first memories. I can remember way back and everybody has that border where they remember bits and peices of the first things thaty can actually recall from being a toddler.
Mine is the Hillcrest theater in Joliet. Its gone now but it was a very tall building when it was there. I remember it because it was next to a shopping center my parents used to frequent. The reason I remember it specifically is because one day its big towering facade was covered up and the sign on it was the biggest thing I had ever seen. It was "Star Wars". It was shortly after that my parents decided to see it and I vagely remember going to the movie (I was two years old!).
Thats about as personal it gets with me aside from my dedication to my RP in game. It was on of the first things I remember.

I've got the SW tattoo, a half-finished Durge costume, a Sith costume I never wear, and I think my small collection of SW stuff was eaten by the attic. Or my mother. I still have my Remastered version triology though, which was the first movies I bought with my own money, and one of the first things over $5 I ever saved up for and bought.
My ex that I was with until a few months ago and I were heavily involved with the local SW fan club and so we dressed up and went to events and cons and blah blah blah. My earliest memory of SW is kinda creepy...Luke reaming himself on the Cloud City antenna with no hand and going "LEIA! Hear me....LEIA." And moaning and stuff...that was when I was really little and they scared me.
When I was 13 I saw them again and I fell in love. That's when I saved up and bought them, and that spring break I remember my mom was really worried because I did nothing but watch the tapes over and over again...like 13 hours straight for days in a row. She made me ride my bike one evening. Damn bike.

Hmm Well I remember when i was younger My mother had the collection on tape, and not the remastered one mind you, But i instantly fell inlove with it. My geekdom is refered to by the ones I love as being a Closet Geek, I never wear t-shirts outside of my house of SW nor do I have any stickers of it on my car, But as of late I have begun to leak it out a bit more and i feel that my Tags will be changed. I have been thinking of getting a Tatto of BH logo fromt he Ps2 game but I havent decided yet. I do plan on going to SWG fanfest and possible more SW themed events if they come close to my area.

Very cool costume work, Dossk. I love that kind of stuff.
My geekdom is mostly material but my prizes of SW fandom include...
- A picture I had taken with Darth Vader when I was about 7 years old. I think it was a Toys R' Us promotion. (No I won't show it to you)
- My Boba Fett Beer Stein
- My Boba Fett life-size cardboard standup
- My signed photo of Boba Fett by Jeremy Bullock signed "To Tom at Dark13 Studios - Stay on the Dark Side" (Dark13 Studios is my graphic design freelance studio).
- My Luke in Stormtrooper Gear bust (Summer 2004 Exclusive)
And one day I will own a boat and name it "wookiee I" - THough now I'm leaning toward my ship name instead. I was going to name it "Slave I" but I was afraid some people might get the wrong idea.

I remember being taken to see the "A New Hope" when it first came out WAY back when I was a cub scout. Group of rowdy 7-9 year olds all in the front row causing a fuss until the movie started... after that it was wide-eyed stares of awe until the movie ended.
"Empire Strikes Back" I got to see 1.5 times on a rare outing with my dad (he worked a lot). We got there when it was halfway done so we sat though the next showing... it was way cool.
"Return of the Jedi"... don't even recall anything other than I saw it at the theater. Kinda shows how much Jedi impress me, eh? /wookieeflex
Absolutely HATE all the "new/old/supposed-to-be-there-according-to-Lucas" crap added to the movies.
I consider the originals a cherished part of my childhood.

Well here is how things are for me. I have spent my fortune on every star wars thing that tickled my intrest. My Fianc'ee IRL agreed to me that our first born child would be Jaminos Michael Palmer. I am Christopher Micheal Palmer and my Fianc'ee will be Neioko Palmer. (I cannot spell her middle name it is Japanese) Belive it or not but in Highschool freshman year I was wearing a shirt with Bobba Fett and he was posed with his EE3 carbine and she complimented my shirt and before I knew it we were going out and five years later we are going to get merried. We share many more common intrests besides Star Wars let you know. I was raised by Star Wars but I am a man of many, many sides one of which cannot spell nor be good with gramer. At any rate ya I am SW fan and will die one wearing that same shirt of Bobba fett posed only I will forever have my tatoo of the scool on his shoulder on my arm. Lol I forgot to mention she got one a few days ago of the skull on her opposite arm of mine so I guess we are just odd.
