Devs hate Wookiees...its science

I just noticed this last night...
Does anyone else feel that Chewy is getting the big furry shaft on this whole "Wanted Poster" loot series? I mean come on...he has got to be the most wanted wookiee in the Empire's recent history, but nobody puts his picture up. What a crock of crap...
I think its just one more piece of evidence that proves the devs hate Wookiees. There are other facts to support this theory...
The Ceremonial and the Black Mountain armor make Wookiees look like hairy versions of Robin Hood's Merry Men, or even moreso, like Peter Pan's Lost Boys. And the Hunting Armor (Wookiee comp armor) is like something out of a Pier 1 catalog. I can't tell you how reassured I would be to jump into combat with a bunch of Stormtroopers wearing that wicker clothes bin I saw on page 5 of their fall collection issue.
I know your thinking "But Del'tar, what about wearable faction loot and pilot loot, surely they can wear that, you n00b! LOL ROFL ROFLMAO!!1!!"
Nope. No love there either. Wookiees (and Ithorians, don't get me wrong...Ithey get the shaft too, but at least they don't look like crap in game and their armor makes em look like a badass robot) can't wear any of it. The only thing they "kind of" get is the mercenary bandolier...if you count being able to see the top two pouches of it before it miraculously vanishes into their fur.
What about the mighty bowcaster? That thing looked like it could kick all forms of ass in the movies. In the game it is relegated to an 8 second refiring chunk of worthlessness. But its cool that novice Wookiee artisans have the schematic to start off with...forget the fact that it requires parts they can't make until they are weaponsmiths though.
Yeesh. Its like the devs only put Wookiees into the game because they HAD to...not because they wanted to.

I would agree. Wookies don't seem to get any love in the game. I had a wookiee character on Kettemoor at launch. Wookies were slow and could not wear armor at the time(this is back when you had to loot your own corpse). They need to make the bowcaster a kick ass ranged weapon ala the some of the high end rifles. If we look at ROTJ on Endor,Chewie snipes the speeder bike at probably a good 50-70ft. It would also be nice to have Kaashyk(spelling?) available as a new planet. Perhaps a EP III tie in(but they probably won't do it)?
On the wanted poster tip..
Sure there are customizable wookiee skins, but there's not alot of variety there. Even if there was a wanted poster for Chewie, how would one know if they captured Chewie since most Wookies look pretty much the same?

Yes, the Wook Wooks get the shaft all right. Another example is wookiee clothing. Sure wookies aren't supposed to wear much but they could at least throw in a few more kick ass bandoliers or leggings or something. What really dug the dagger in deep was when JtL hit and wacky looking Ithorians hit the scene they got a TON of clothing just for them, putting the wookiee's fashion options to shame. Poor Poor wooks.
But only wookiees get

those life day orbs (except I didn't get one) or the life day robes (except any novice artisan can make a red robe for every other species).
To quote Warryr, "Wookin' it ain't easy".

When I first heard about SWG, my biggest hope was to see Kaashyyyk...and be a smuggler. Those that know Iago can see how those plans worked out.
The poster: With the Imperial opinion of "lesser species," I wouldn't expect them to make a wanted poster for a wookiee. The best Chewie would get is a small mention on Han's poster (if he has one, I'm not caught up with fun loots). Imperial bias would lend to underestimating Chewbacca's worth as an enemy....and, therefore, it makes sense, imo.

Yeah Seret, Wookiee clothing does bite the flesh eating chuba. The wookiee smock makes wookiees look like the ghosts from pac-man with furry heads on em. And for some reason, there are big time clipping issues with almost all of their clothing. When you try to combine the pitifully few clothing items they have, you get overlap all over the place and things just look like crapola. And some things can't even be worn together. The cool-ass shoulder pad gets blanked out by certain hoods.
I say wookiees should boycott clothing and start wearing red armbands or black gloves or something until the devs decide to spread the love.
WOOKIEE RAGE! WOOKIEE RAGE!

I have a wookiee alt. He has never worn armor and never will. I agree that the wooks get less then they deserve. But on a small note most wookies never wore clothing, on a thierd note this is not really Star Wars except names and smililar itmes. To be down right honost wookies are just naked tree dwelers but they are the coolest naked tree dwelers alive. The Ewok being a low evolved species of wookiee making a low second place.

Hey man, Chewie had that bandolier and he wore it with pride. But in order to see a bandolier on an SWG wookiee, he needs to be as skinny as they get. And then he would look like the Chewbacca NPC on Lok (aka pure crap). How about a sash or something? Armbands would be downright bitching...didn't that wookiee bounty hunter from that series (was it Shadows of the Empire) in between ESB and ROTJ have a headband and an eyepatch? Sorry for the vagueness, I don't remember the details.
Eyepatches rule...sign me up.
So just outta curiousity Jaminos, does your Wookiee alt spend a lot of time on his back?

Gotta play devil's advocate for a second.
When the game launched, and in Beta, Wookies were the mother of all bad-asses in game. They had more weapon damage resistance than anyone else, and had more stamina and strength.
To this day, they make the baddest TKA and sword artists, if I'm not mistaken.
Also, if you want to wear clothes, don't play a wookiee.
I'm not trying to say you don't have valid complaints (I really enjoyed the rant!), but if a wookiee can't wear everyone else's armor in "real life" (movies) due to their enormous size (see handcuffs in Ep IV), then they shouldn't wear 'em in game. Also, I think their armor fits a race of tree-hugging furbags. Granted, they could have more ceremonial metal armor (they can make the bowcaster, after all), but the movies never show them in anything but their fur.

I see your point x'an...and I like to argue...so lets do dis..
I think its unfair to say "If you want to wear clothes, then don't be a wookiee"... When you look at all of the craftable clothing and armor items the crafters can make, there are huge amounts of crap that all the humanoid races can wear. That is a lot of hella cool content. My old character changed his outfits like once a week or so because I thought it was fun as hell. I am not at all displeased by the fact that wookiees cannot wear hawt pants. But let's see a little creativity for cryin out loud. Have you SEEN the hide jerkin? Lame. There are other types of clothing than just shirts, jackets, and pants (think accessories). I would like to see the Wookiees get a little more variety in their wardrobe customization...near the level that everyone else can enjoy, not neccessarily with the same types of items.

I gotta agree with Del'tar here. Its not about "clothing" in general, its about options. All other races have a lot of options. Give wookies an equal amount of options, just make it different kinds of items. They don't need shirts or pants, but some hair accessories like tribal braids or even a cool poncho. Make they'll take some notes from the wookiee costumes in Episode III. Give them armor that doesn't look like the goblin armor from Labyrinth.
Just give everyone an equal chance at uniqueness and creativity. Fact remains Wookies are the most limited species in the game so why not throw them a bone, hell even a literal one.
