Martial Arts Tournament (Mon Dec 20th 8:30 CST)

to set up this tournament correctly I would like everyone who wants to enter to post their name and style(s) they will use. It will be allowed to fight in multiple styles, so if you want to enter your sword and hand to hand skill please do . depending on the estimated number of fighters I will determine the style (round robin/elimination). I have yet to post a location for the tournament site, if you have one let me know.

There will be a prize for the champion of weapon style.
There will be a prize for the champion of unarmed style.
those two will fight for the tournament champion prize.
winners will have to defend their title at the next tournament and I am hoping that the status of "weapon master" or "unarmed master" can be treasured and used in future rp situations (titles not finalized)

come unbuffed, no armor, and 0 battle fatigue (the lower the better because it wont be healed once the tournament starts).

an on site doctor with wound packs and stims would help keep things moving at a good pace. All weapons are acceptable except NO DOTS.

Reminder.. this is tonight. We had kind of a light turnout last time. Please try to make it if you can. I have had a good time at each of preceeding events. As with all events, the more people that go, the more fun they are.

Good news to all those who will be entering the tournament, Rebel forces have granted us safe usasge of their facility on Talus. Please go to Daeric and await contact from one of my Monks to bring you to the event, a Monk will watch the Cantina and shuttleports and find you when you arrive. be discreet in your ways tonight fellow warriors, the Empire lurks in the shadows of these affairs.

Kudos to Dariis and all those who participated. I had a really good time. This sort of thing is my only form of PVP and is very enjoyable.

It also give me a chance to RP with people that I do not always get a chance to interact with.

It is also humbling in that the limitations of my character (template) and weapons become very apparent, but I had fun nonetheless.

I'm used to looking up at the purple wonder, but not from ankle level (more used to belly-high or even a thigh on big wookies). /mutter Stupid +7 dancer defense bonus. You did win the weapons division right (aside from the crazy monkness that is Dariis)?

It really was a good time. The RP is good, even better as Dariis gets more streamlined in how he runs it. The combat is fun; I had a couple fights where I actually stood up in excitement because it was so close. (Props to Reb for a huge come from behind on me - TWICE. She shook it off well after I put her down once.) And I honestly learn ALOT from doing this. As a rule, I hunt unbuffed so this isn't new territory; but being able to analyze another players play style for weaknesses is so much fun. I even get to give tips to others when I realize my own weaknesses.

If there are under 20 people at the event, I would suggest that everyone be grouped so the observers can follow how the fight is going better.

Watching Dariis knock 3 opponents down at the same time, that was something.
