New Walks for SWG

Something I posted on the SOE forums....

Some time ago, I modeled clothes for a fashion show (too bad the /model emote wasn't added then!). It was really fun and we used the center stage of the player cantina as a walkway and had fun posing.


The only thing that threw it off was the "I'm packing and I know how to use it" strut everyone seems to do.


What I propose is adding different types of walks for everyone and maybe some special ones for entertainers. Something very simple to switch to using something like '/walk'. e.g. /walk wounded, /walk bumleg, /walk normal


Walks for Everyone

wounded
bum leg
drunk/stagger
timid
angry*
sad*

*I'm more inclined to keep them seperated from moods since mood can also be used to change the tone of a spiatial message. Suddenly changing strides just for that one comment will look odd.

Walks for Entertainers

fashion
sexy

Thoughts? Additions? There could be different 'flavors' of walks too. angry1 could be a stomping angry walk and angry2 could be a furious hurried type of walk.

Thats a very good idea, but sadly it is yet another good idea in an encyclopedia of good ideas. I'd love to see them add it but then I'd start spouting a list of other things I'd like them to add. Its sad really.

But I don't want to downplay the walkin' tall idea. I hope you get some positive responses out of the game.

I always thought it was dumb that you can't lay down in your bed or voluntarily incap yourself if you want to faint or something. But thats just me.

I don't think I'd want Dwilah to walk that way ALL the time. (I mean, I dunno about you other ladies, but I sure as hell don't walk like that all the time. I walk different than a guy for sure, but walking like you want somebody on a bed in front of you takes concentration and a focus on balance that I don't have time for when I'm hurrying to the car or between classes). There are characters it wouldn't fit for and there should be some in between walking strides. You know, just an in general /stride, /casualwalk, /smallsteps, /ladylike, /seductivestrut, /swagger. By degrees. I'd also like it if you could choose different sitting positions.

I agree, walking like you are on the catwalk all the time would not fit most characters. The default would just be the day-to-day run-to-catch-the-shuttle walk

But I think that when SOE toned it down, they went down, through and out the other side.
