Coolest thing I got (so far, since my kid is sick and we have to stay home this christmas)?

A limited edition Fossil Star Wars watch where the face is the Imperial Cog symbol. It's awsome, at first glance, you don't realize it's a Star Wars watch.

I got an iPod (for my 2 hour commute round trip each day; just need to go pick up a Belkin radio adapter now), and I got Liz 2 tickets to the Dear Friends Final Fantasy concert tour that debuts in Chicago.

Nice haul this year

- Received: Dear old Dad sent me DVD's that I've been talking about since the spring. The Thing From Another World (1951) Howard Hawkes directed and way ahead of it's time, the 1982 version of that movie The Thing by John Carpenter (one of my all time faves), two classics from Sergio Leone The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly Collector's Edition, and my favorite movie of all time (sorry not Star Wars) Once Upon a Time in America (the scene where the poor starving ragamuffin kid chooses food over losing his virginity is one of the most powerful scenes ever and one of the reasons I love this movie).

Gave: Autographed CD from Sonny Rollins, a legendary jazz sax man from the 1960's who went into seclusion for awhile like Finding Forrester and came back on the scene fairly recently. Dad is a jazz head.

- Received: My brothers sent me each 12 Dominican Cohiba Cigars and 12 bottles of Presidente Dominican Beer. Only your brothers know how to feed your base desires like that :lol: Also a rare print of Thunderball, the best of all of Ian Fleming's James Bond novels. It's a paperback, but that works for me. Ignore the movie. If you get a chance to read it, it still holds up today.

Gave: A smokin' oilskin and tweed longcoat that I would consider moving back to Cleveland just to wear in the winter. Other bro' got a new Mayhem pool cue with fantasy artwork on it.

- Received : My Adorable Lady hooked me up with two of what I call "Miami Cuban" outfits. Raw Silk shirts, cotton slacks and two of these straw hats which I love in the summertime down here.

- Received My best friend renewed my subscription to Foreign Affairs magazine. BEST resource for unbiased, in-depth, and timely geopolitical coverage this side of a security clearance. Once again, I recommend to you all. www.foreignaffairs.org

Gave : Futurama, Season One and Two.

- Received: My other renegade buddy got me a computer chip that supposedly will make my engine run faster. Notorious for buying me stuff that suits him, I see an increase in future requests to borrow my fun car.

Gave : I tracked down one of his former girlfriends, a mutual friend of mine, that he's been mooning over since they broke up FOUR YEARS AGO. I "Godfathered" a meet between them. She has a plane ticket. Now maybe he can shut up.

- Received: Coolest Taskmaster Boss Ever gave me VIP tickets for the Cleveland Browns at Miami Dolphins game that starts in about 6 hours. It's basically a pre-season game for next year :lol: But, it'll be a mack daddy experience with fully enclosed lounge seating, waitresses, and beer in a glass.

Gave: "Ancient Egyptian Overtime" this past year, blood, sweat, tears, and bone marrow.

And I guess I bought myself Season One & Two of 24. Raw spy goodness, that show. Lots of underlying themes too.

I had obscene fun trying to figure out gifts for people this year! It's like Mission:Impossible, but in a fun way.

Received: From my brother Final Fantasy II & III for the SNES (Oh how I look forward to wasting hours of time playing those again).

Gave: I gave him Halo 2 for the X-Box

Received: Saitek X-45 Joystick from my sister (Best present but haven't received it yet due to the weather UPS has not delivered it).

Gave: As money is tight this year my wife put together a large photo album of our son Jackson's first 4 months and then docorated each page with pictures she drew as well as the cover. She put hours of blood, sweat, and tears into that book.

Received: From my mother I received a Game Card for SWG or 2 I can't remember and $500.00 for my wife, son, and I to split. Oh she also got me about 2 outfits for work from Old Navy.

Gave: Another photo album made by my wife and 25 years of love and devotion from me. I'm her best son after all. Heck we gave her another grandson what else could she want?

Received: my wife and I each received $200.00 from her parents $200.00 of which was spent on our new German Shepard puppy. I also received Madden 2005, and an Ebible for the PC.

Gave: We gave her father 2 authentic photographs of the 101st airborne during WWII and had them framed. Gave her mother a photo book of the Cival War and they also got a photo Album.

That's about it, so far the X-45 is my fav.

Ok...that store rocks. I'd never buy anything from the guy, but it looks like a place I'd go just to sit and yack with that guy.

It reminds me of the Hobby/game store I go to..."Prosek's Military Model and Greenhouse". It has the best selection of military game minis and tank models...and, oh yeah, they also sell plants and trees and do flowers for people's weddings. The guy behind the counter would keep me in there all day talking if he had the chance...and the sad part is, I'd probably open up the model I was buying and sit there and build it while he was talking, if I didn't have other stuff to do.

Ah yes, the wonders of parenting.

I just put some in a little cup and poured water into it one teaspoon at a time until it became saturated. It was fun. And there was no shit in it either, so that was a bonus.

As for my Christmas loot, I got some good stuff.

Edited to say: I TOTALLY FORGOT. I also got the first 100 Strong Bad Emails in DVD format. Life is good.
