I'm having a very hard time lately. That being, I've pretty much lost all interest in this game except for you people. The roleplayers succesfully trapped me in this game by providing me with creative, and innovative ways to get this "fantasy" side of me out.
But I never do anything fun!
Grinding has taken the passion out of playing a MMORPG.
Most nights I log in, see nobody I know is on, and log out.
Some other nights...
I buff up, gear up... and go get stomped on by a gorax or a krayt.
Or else grinding in space on the unending quest that is Master Pilot.
And the past few nights... I've been lucky enough to take part in Jabes events, and do more roleplay.
So what do I do to keep myself entertained?
Pray a roleplayer is on and interested in hanging out with me.
What is it that keeps you coming back for more SWG?
What do you do to keep yourself entertained in SWG?
SIDE NOTE:
Who does the sites comic artwork?
It's so...
Cool.
I'd give up my soul to have a cool signature like that...
Well, maybe only half of my soul.

Seret, X'an, and Dwilah are the artists...with a little Jorhel and Mess'tar throw n in for good measure.

Mess'tar did some artwork? I've been bugging him for months to give me some Dooo goodness for the site? Where's you hide it??!!Zannon wrote:Seret, X'an, and Dwilah are the artists...with a little Jorhel and Mess'tar throw n in for good measure.

Yeah yeah. So I'm a little behind with the creative. I also promised a painting for my brother when he bought his house (2 years ago).

Don't force yourself. You'll enjoy something more if you do something else for a bit and come back to it. Which sometimes means for fifteen minutes, an hour, a day, a week. If you don't like grinding...don't grind. If RPing is what you like about it, and big game hunting, seek out new avenues of those things. Emphasize the things you like in your gameplay and don't force yourself to do things that feel tedious. That's a surefire way to burn out.

I am bored with most things in the game as well. The things I have to grind are so damn boring - its beyond belief. So I I just RP. But there does seem to be a shortage of role players lately. At least ones that play when I do.
Jabe
Jabe
- Jabe Adaks
- Grand Admiral
- Discord
@jabeadaks - Server
Legends - Character Names
Jaibe Adaks
Wraife Scyndareaux
Graanta
I think thats my main problem.
A shortage of RP and organized RP.(aside from Jabes current storyline)
I need like 4 alts like I had in the good old days of Ultima Online
Hard to get Rebecca to hang out with people if she has no need to...
Damn realistic roleplay.

I don't worry about it. If i log on andnothing is going on, I first see if there is any errands I need to run, or maybe organizing I have to do. If so I will, and then maybe go dance somewhere until others come on, if they do. Cantinas like in Eisley. May not get to RP, but at least it satisfies my human need for social interaction even if I mostly encounter non RPers.Rebecca wrote:SIDE NOTE:

And if you want, send me some screenies of Rebecca and I can see what I can do for a signature for you. Also tell me a bit about her, what colors you like for her and such.*hugs Rebecca*

The simplest answer I can give you is...I'm having a very hard time lately. That being, I've pretty much lost all interest in this game except for you people. The roleplayers succesfully trapped me in this game by providing me with creative, and innovative ways to get this "fantasy" side of me out.

Never do anything alone if you can help it.
Even if you are doing nothing... do nothing with someone. I am prettly shameless about dragging people into things because I have learned that people WANT to be dragged into things. When in doubt, always invite someone. By bringing along as many people as you can, the ordinary may become extraodinary.
Also, don't play too much. Your play sessions should be something you look forward to. If you are bored, do like Dwilah said and take a short break.
One other topic that is worth speaking on.. it does seem that people are having a hard time finding RP at random. Maybe the answer is to choose a few night a week as RP time and set aside a couple hours. Or, the people that run events just schedule things on the calendar like Jabe did for the Replicant thing.
This is a good conversation to have. RP is sometimes work, but always very rewarding.

Unfortunatly for the most part I'm never on when my fellow roleplayers from here are on and even when they are I have a hard time tryin to figure out why would Jerrel seek these people out. I had a big reason to go find Ekade but dammit her bounty closed. When I am on I see if I need to run any erands like get some creds together to get some furniture to rearage in my House. Most of the time I just run into random players and start rping. I dont even tell them what I'm doing some times.
One time I was in Mos Eisley and some player asked me if I knew where the rifleman trainner was. I asked him if he ment Steve Turnakus (name I pulled out of my ass) and he said he wasn't sure what his name was. I told him that I think he went to visit his parent out in the Dune Sea but should be back in a day or two if your in town that long and the player just stood there then said no thanks. Man that was funny....then again I might have been just really really board.

Ok gonna add a noobie opinion to this, I have to agree with Ekade about people want to be dragged into things. When I first got this interest in playing the game from a rp point of view I could not find anyone that really knew what I was talking about until my in game hubby took me to the crazy roba. I actually was there along time before I really started interacting with people, but it was them reaching out and including me that helped me to get started (im sure now they wish they would have left me in the corner)
But back to my point, maybe a couple rp people should get together in a very public place and rp a scene but include people passing by in the conversation even if they dont respond you can alway say well so and so must not have heard me or pore soul he is so preocupied no one can reach him. This might help to include a few new people and enlarge the wonderful group of people that love to rp.
The other idea is to start scheduling a couple of events earlier in the evening or early in the day on sat and sunday, I mean this is a europe server pretty much and it would make it easier for our two differnt time zones to meet and enjoy each other 8-) Zeal needs a party woot.

Handing out a slight ass whooping to a few Goraxes (goraxi? Goraxis? what is the friggin' plural form of Gorax?) is also an entertaining 3 hours.
Seriously...group up and do some high end mobs like the Gorax of nightsister elders. The group hunt has been a tried and true resolution to SWG boredom for me. Plus, it will get you ready for when you HAVE to group up to take on a pack of crazed durni. After the Ground update...if it ever happens.
