Not a lot of posting in my favorite forum today...so here is one.

Anyone heard anything about the game "God of War"? I saw a video of it a few weeks ago while I was randomly checking out video game reviews. It is supposed to take place in ancient Greece I believe. While I am unsure of whether or not Chain-swords were popular weapons back then (heavily laden sarcasm), it did *look* very impressive to my untrained eye. Anyone else heard about this one?

I remember hearing it was coming out some time this spring but I did not look into it any further then what I read. It looks decent but I have other games on my list.

haven't heard too much but i heard its kinda like a platformer not quite sure but looks ok could be just all hype like halo 2 man that game sucked

Haven't heard anything about it. I've really fallen out of the video game loop as of the past few months.

God of War has some serious potential to be a lot of fun. It takes a lot of notes from good ole Devil May Cry and gives up a big slice of gore that we gamers all know and love. The videos, reviews, and images I've seen make this look like a very interesting game. The main character weilds twin blades chained to his wrists which sounds like a "say hello to your lower intestine" kind of fun gameplay.

Interesting facts about the game is that it starts with the main character jumping to his death off a cliff. As he falls the events of the past few weeks flash before him. No doubt these are the tragedies leading to his suicide. You can to play during these events and see what leads to his cliff jumping. There is also multiple endings which could mean he has multiple fates. I like variety in a game and replay value so this is very reassuring.

Though my reservations with this game is that it might be another hack n' slash bore. The developer has no other games that I know of under their belt so I have no past games to base it on.

I did also read something about uber one hit death moves that are especially brutal, yet don't yield the power up thingies that killing an enemy the old fashioned way would. That sounded kinda cool to me, too.

It reminds me of the scene in "Raiders of the Lost Ark" when they are in Cairo getting chased through the streets. That dude in black busts out a scimitar and starts twirlin' it around. So Indiana Jones sighs, and plugs him in the face with one shot from his revolver. Bad assery at its best.

Anyone notice how around 2pm EVERYDAY, the boards here get awfully silent? I guess that is when people decide to actually start working.
