great film, you gotta hand it to scorsese...and even leonardo, who I don't particularly like, did an excellent job with hughes neurosis...was naked for while there too
great flying scenes, you really get the feeling he just loved to fly...especially since i've done similar things for fun in aircraft
you learn about the early airline business, and what pricks airline management were/are
you see how hughes was obsessed with details, and aircraft, and movies, and the biggest surprise, titties!
worst part of the picture:
the guy in the row behind me started to snore 5 minutes into the flick and lasted 3 hours even during all the extremely loud sound effects (even the crash scene)
went and saw The Aviator
well if by "buzz" you mean "crash," and by "tower" you mean "into people's houses"Del'tar Chagas wrote:Does HE ever get permission to buzz the tower?
then, yes!

Cancel the Oscars. If what you say about buzzing the tower is true, then I nominate this film for all awards this year.Skarr wrote:well if by "buzz" you mean "crash," and by "tower" you mean "into people's houses"Del'tar Chagas wrote:Does HE ever get permission to buzz the tower?

I've got to see that movie. Howard Hughes is one of my favorite topics (What isn't, though?).
On a 60 Minutes show about 6 years ago, Arnon Milchan, the boss of Regency Studios (Pretty Woman, Last of the Mohicans, Heat) talked about his desire to make a Hughes movie. Looks like Miramax got it first, but since then, I've been waiting.
The first thing that I look at when I consider a movie is the Director. Scorcese is on a short list of mine for directors that I will watch regardless of recommendation. Each Scorcese movie that I've seen (about 10), I have liked.
It might not knock my socks off, but I'm really looking forward to seeing this flick.
