Big Football Sunday...

....Sunday SUNDAY Sunday!

Nothing like the teams gouging it out with high stakes on the line.

And it's a bit chilly too! More pressure on the Offensive Lines. Less reckless passing. Grind that yardage, boys!
GRIND IT!

Urgh! So much for the grind on the ground.

Indianapols Colts 49
Denver Broncos 24

Once again, Indy has gets an "A" in Addition, but the question:

Did Indy's defense slack off late in the game or did the Broncos earn those 24 points?

If earned, that's not something you want to take into the second round of the playoffs. Against the Patriots on top of that.

Gridiron angst. Love it.

Bah, Panthers didn't make it, there might as well be no playoffs. :P

Yeah, I was disappointed about that too. Their show last season had me interested.

I liked their attitude and the double back running attack. Reminded me of the old NFL days of 2 steady runners at times. Every now and then a double back team would get 1,000 rushing yards in a season from both backs. Or one back with 1k yards rushing & receiving. It was rare but fun to watch. Even rarer nowadays.

And the Big Cheese goes down.

Packers get whipped upon and won on.

Minnesota 31
Green Bay 17

A grungy playing field contributed to more passing and the Vikes did it better than the Pack.

Colts Win!! Now if only they can beat the Pat's a feat they've not been able to acomplish in the last 12 months at least.

As to the Bronco's win, I think the interception return was a legit, however the other two touch down's showed they were slacking a little, and having Morris on the sideline hurt a little too. I think his status for next week will be a big factor.

On the other side of the coin though Law will be out for NE so if weather permits Manning to throw the ball a lot I think they'll be a lot tougher to stop this year. I hate the Pats and I'm from NE.

Here we go. Three weeks out from the Super Bowl and I'm going to call it for the New England Patriots to win.

This with the Patriots vs. Colts going on at the moment in Foxboro, still early in the game.

Also, Philadelphia Eagles going up against the Atlanta Falcons, I like the Eagles.

Pittsburgh? Very tough call. Very tough. But I still see the Patriots taking it over them. This one I see coming down to coaches more than anything else and in the "Bill vs. Bill Battle" (Belichick vs. Cowher), I give it to Belichick.

So! Patriots vs. Eagles with Patriots winning their 3rd Bowl in 4 years.

If this matchup comes to be, I wouldn't mind throwing some SWG credits on it. I got a million to shuffle. Fade some, fade all. First come, first serve.

I'll get back atcha on Super Bowl Sunday, February 6th. Yeah, uh-huh 8-)

Annnd there's the first part. The once again un-hyped Patriots defense shut down the hottest, most hyped offense in the NFL, the Colts.

Dayum! Even I didn't think they'd lose this badly! 3 points in 3 quarters? From a wicked triumverate like Manning, James, and Harrison?
Ewwww.

Nope, Falcons are winning. Why? Because every team I seem to be pulling for in these games seems to lose. Since I hate Atlanta the most of the remaining four, they seem to be the predetermined winner, if for not other reason than to smite me.

Hmm. Your karmic gridiron divination intrigues me, spaceman. What about Patriots - Steelers?

I am still hoping for the all PA Superbowl. I am a big fan off the Steelers. Don't like the Eagles but hey, how often do two PA teams meet in the Superbowl?

I think if the Steelers play well, not the way they played last week, its too close to call. They are pretty evenly matched and if the Steelers get an early lead watch out.

Philly/Atlanta: I think Philly has this game if their offense performs. It seems like they decided to take a break a few times this season and it hurt them badly.

We can talk Superbowl after this weekend.

Aww, c'mon. What about the Conference Championships now?

Even with homefield advantage are the Steelers still that shook? Have no faith in their own play book? Scared to death, scared of life, they're shook?

500k on the Patriots from me.

I'd take your bet but I don't think I can cover it.I am probably shy by 100 or 200k.

I feel confident the Steelers will win the game. If they don't, oh well. They still had there best season in years and with a rookie QB?

The defensive struggle be where this game is won. The Steelers won the first time around with the huge turnovers early. I doubt there will be as many this time since New England got their RB back. Like I said though the Pat's will have a bad time if they get down to the Steelers early. The Bus and Deuce will be pounding them the rest of the day and running that clock til the end.
