The week after Christmas I had to go to 3 different stores before I picked up the last copy that store had.

It's just a phase, like the 70's. You'll all come crawling back to SWG. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but someday.

There is no doubt. At the same time, WoW is extremely fun for what it is.

It's good to see a company reap the fruits of taking the time necessary to properly test and release their product.
Now they can concentrate on the next move without having to do eleventy-million revamps, patches, customer bribery, and caving in to the pressure of special interest player groups who are rightly angry.
I'm euphoric. Had my best game experience just last night. Straight out of a movie.
I'm hearing that Blizzard's got some wicked stuff cooked up for down the road too. My mind reels at the what it could be.

On this part, I completely agree. SOE has just dropped the ball too many times. I have read half a dozen gaming sites' year end reviews and they all said almsot the same thing:
"Jump to Lightspeed? How bout jump to combat revamp?"

That's JUST like Blizzard, to go hating some old vinyl (sp?) formats. Why would anyone want to trash someone's old album collection? WHY--oh wait.

Not to upset anyone here b/c I am not going anywhere... but I did order a copy to try out. I seriously doubt it will catch my interest because I am quite in love with the star wars universe and I really don't think WoW will fullfill anything other than letting me kill things.

Not trying to yank feathers here, but it's funny. I remember 2 months after SWG came out you could get barely used copies all over the place. EB, EBay, EWho, EHow...

I don't get it, why do people love again with 4 year old graphics and a stupid (OPINION!) storyline with inane races and a second-rate class selection?
/shrug. SWG and EQ2 for me.

WoW is a different gaming experience for me. Like most of those who played it doesn't replace SWG, its just another good game out there to play (and sadly pay for month to month). I don't get the same enjoyment out of WoW as I do from SWG but I love both of them.
The only thing that makes it compete with SWG is montly fee. If we didn't have to pay these fees month to month for both games we'd simply talk about it like it was another platform or PC game. You wouldn't compare Half-life 2 to SWG because they just don't interfere.
Now our playtime does interefere for some. I openly admit I play more WoW now than SWG only because WoW is still very new and there is a lot to do and and explore while SWG has not offered us anything new since Jump to Lightspeed and that was easily expended.
So I hope both games thrive, and SOE gets off their ass and gives their subscribers something to be happy about and look forward to.
