Need help with some grinding...

I've never used an attack macro and set a character up somewhere to AFK farm XP and loot. I need to grind up an NPC to a master combat profession and I have two questions (because I'd rather play as Zannon and let my other computer do all the work):

1. What is a typical recursive attack macro I can use? How do you set it to target the nearest Enemy?

2. Where is the best place to set up and do this?

Thanks,

Zannon

1. Bad news for you there. You really don't want to have your toon do this because even a weak mob can gang up on you and nibble you to death if you're not at the computer actively watching. It's going to suck but you're going to have to put in some At-the-Keyboard time to grind up a Combat Prof.

2. My 2 choices for doing this was Talus up until you were ready to go Novice Elite, then Dantooine after that for the grind to Elite Master. Get some top Composite, as lame as that will feel after a while.

Quenkers and Voritors...soon you will have bad dreams about them. :lol:

The Cavern Spider Cave inside the Geonosian Bio Lab was also good for the grind to Elite Master. Depending on your own personal sneakiness you may need an escort to that particular spot. And once again when you want to leave. If no powerful friends are on, call one of the frequent Jedi folks inhabiting the Lab. They usually don't mind knocking off a critter or 3 for you.

What Prof are you trying to Master?

Good Luck

I have an ideal waypoint for this, but you will want buffs. We'll speak in PM as my waypoint has yet to be camped to this day.

Really though you can master TK or something in a very short while if you just join a solo group on dantooine and take missions for quenkers and huurtons and voritors and stuff and get a suit of comp or ubese and get buffed/brandy and just slaugther things non-stop. Mastering one prof doesn't take very long, and it's more reliable than doing it afk.

Quenkers are great XP per min. They dont give you max like a rancor.. but you can kill them in a fraction of the time. Also, group with a pet for that group bonus. You can leave the pet at the mission terminal. (at least that is how it used to work)

I'm pretty sure Skarr mastered TK just by standing in the middle of a town and letting the NPCs aggro on him after he'd killed enough by hand.

It was slow-going, but it's one of those brainless "there's no way these guys could ever take me" AFK grinds, and that sounds like what Zan's lookin' for.

So, I'd talk to Skarr.

I thought they get rid of solo groups?

Well, sort of. They nerfed the solo group payout. But if you group up with other people, you can still pick up a high paying mission with tougher mobs and then go complete said mission for more xp than you could have gotten on your own. Also, you could group up, get a high paying mission at the terminal, and then disband. I think you get the full payout that way. Or am I wrong? Anyone?

Basically if you're not near the mission when it gets completed you don't get paid. You should still be able to solo group to get higher paying missions and better XP. I know I can't get Rancor missions on Dathomir unless I'm in a group.

Yes, baz nitches work too. Dathomir is just a scarier place than Dantooine.. so maybe start on quenkers on Dantooine, then graduate to Dathomir.

Another good critter is Kamurith's. As a TK, if you have some boxes in the Meditation line, you can meditate away your poisions and diseases.

Zannon, are you working ranged or melee? My feelings are that you are leaning towards ranged. In which case you MIGHT want a pet to tank for you...especially when you start tackiling the quenkers that can poison you. Yes there are quenkers that poison. I would also like to offer my services as a mule if you like. I dig grinding.

I used the afk attack macro to grind up the one braawler skill tree to get to tka, cuz it was so slooooooww

but it would go something like this

/ui action cycleTargetOutward; (this makes you target the closest enemy)
/attack; (or any special you want to do)
/pause 5; (will need to tweak this number probably)
/loot all;
/harvest (whatever);
/pause 1;
/ui action toolbarSlot(whatever to repeat)

Does the last line still work? I thought they took away looping macros.
