Favorite Profession ability

I just want to know a few of everyones favorite abilities, or what people think is the best for roleplay, I have a few...

Ranger- Player Track
Smuggler-Sell out (worth half the imp/rebel faction when killed because they say it was just a "misunderstanding")
Medic-drag incapped player
Scout-Forage (if you need a snack or your pet is hungry, food where ever you stand)

The infamous Feign Death of the Smuggler, hands down.

Though it's been nerfed back somewhat since Launch, I agree with what Sony did (don't hear that too often out of my mouth). FD is strong enough as it is. If a PvPer still hammers on your armor when you're down then stand back up and die. You can't have it both ways.

In all fairness, as far as giving you a fighting chance to survive and escape, FD is the best skill. It stops attack against you right on the spot and gives you as long as you want to heal and wait for either the mob to go away or help to come to you.

Even some Smugglers don't agree, but to me that's the Role Play essence of a Smuggler. Less direct confrontation, more expoiting opportunity, including faking it. No shame in my game.

Groups benefit from the FDing Smuggler too. Loot rights to a creature and an advance scout can all be maintained with FD in your group when everyone else is dead and cloning.

Smuggler/Pistol/TK may be a popular mix, but IF we were ever allowed to Smuggle then my RP would always be on the sneak tip. Low visibility unless I had no other choice. Then the knuckles, knees, and shots would come.

Slicing.

I've loved it since I got it and I never want to get rid of it, being able to improve my gear at my every whim. And it's quite in demand, and my pivotal RP flare (i guess... I mean, it's the way I see my character being whenever he isn't in the middle of combat) just sitting in the coronet starport lobby slicing items..
Made so much money that way...

I'm also quite fond of the Novice Squad Leader System Message skill.
/sys GET DOWN NOW!
/sys You have looted all items.
/sys You harvested 5894 Hide off of An Enraged Rancor
/sys YEAH ME TOO! LOL, no kicked from group.

In no particular order:

Conceal shot: Many a mob thought unsoloable have died by my hands with this. That, and how else do you expect me to kill the high end mobs without buffing up? :P

Retreat: I like the free burst run it gives everyone, but the shouted message is fun too.

Torso shot: Fire is fun. Even if it is weak. I had many a fun times in pvp with a commando. I'd torso shot em and they'd run for water thinking the commando just flamed em.

Snipershot: Granted, I rarly if ever use this ability/get to, but it's nice that I can truly remained a ranged character and not have to bother myself with getting in melee range to finish what my gun should've finished anyway.

Nut.

Shot.

Oh wait I mean "low blow". Seriously, there have been few moves in fewer games that have given me as much enjoyment as the Nut Shot. The second I attained it, EVERY bad guy that ever faced X'an Shin (before he retired) received at least one of his mighty crotch blasts.

There's just a certain je ne sais quoi about destroying someone's man(or woman)hood right before you kill them. Hell, some people died from the shock of the blast alone.

Slicing runs a close second, as it had a chance to be very cool. I mean, it was like, ONE update away from being the coolest thing about SWG. Choosing your slice? That's nothing. I used to fantasize about fun little slicing puzzles that the devs could give us when we sliced data terminals. Or slicing my own price on a shuttleport ticket, and then selling it to someone else for a profit. We could have become scalpers. Hell, we could have been smugglers.

well in all fairness, I think Teras Maditaion is the most useful, no wounds again ever. and the force of will, and powerboost is strong and all the poison.bleed/disease things too.

FD is great, maybe the coolest if a master doc/smuggler (your group could just get ressed after the trouble is gone)

but the smuggler thing I like is the undergroud connections, even tho almost everyone knows all the languages, if people couldnt just teach it, but you needed to accually learn by listening to a lang for X amount of time, then speak it for even longer, then that would give a smuggler a great advantage.

but lets not forget the power of /taunt!!

I forgot to mention that one of my FAVORITE skills about this game, is actually having a LACK of skills. I speak of the language diversity.

One of the best times I had in game was when I was spying on some folks (/cough looks at keer poisoning sepiv cough) using an alt account, and forgot to get someone to teach me all the languages (hey, I was in a hurry).

So I had to sit there and listen to people speak in Zabrak and Rodeese, and after awhile, I was actually FIGURING THEM OUT. Granted, I sat there for like 2 hours, but once I could target contextual meaning (people kept yelling "Is there a doctor in the house?!" which I assumed was just that since Sepiv had just hit the floor) I had a bit of a rosetta stone to work from, and was able to understand Zabrak and I think I was getting a handle on Rodeese when I had to call it a night.

Kashyk (or whatever Wookeese is called) I couldn't wrap my head around, but I was so entranced that the codebase for SWG actually translates words you type into a different "language" for each alien species.

Seriously, if you spent enough time on it, you could figure out each "language" if you wanted to. I just love that.

/startdance exotic4 (or exotic2, or popular2, or even poplock2 :D )
/tip ekade xxxx ( used far too seldom )
/emote (or use the shortcut ":") -- by far my favorite command in the game
/language lekku (for those times I need to talk to my people.. and a few sneaky smugglers)

I have to agree with Dariis, meditation was a wonderful ability.. and the one I missed the most when I gave up TKM. When I had TKM and Dancer, I could fully self-heal everything.

I have to agree with Ekade... Dancing. Why else would I re master dancer so many times after dropping it?

Most things Smuggler.

But the two things that are best for RP? Image Designers and Tailors. With the number of combinations of the two, you can truely be unique.

Mind heal was cool, but when I hunted with groups, some people became dependent on it and I got mondo wounded in the mind. Badness.

I love dragging incapped players.

Foraging is fun. Even if medical forage stinks.

Crafting...nobody's mentioned it. Yeah, it's a bit mundane, but I really like it. Tailor and chef all the way.

Fishing! Non-specific ability. Love it. Haven't done it in awhile, I should.

Meditate is neat, just for the pose. What it does is cool, too. Reminds me of Tibetan dudes in cold weather with wet clothes thrown on them and then they dry the cloths with their body heat.

I like the "smacking" moves in pistoleer. You like, whack them over the head with your pistol and knock them down. It's great. I loved that when I got it.

Doctor's ability to rez....yum. My own personal zombie ability.

Languages are sweet. I wish there were options to control how they showed, though. Like you could choose to have them translated only in the spatial chat box rather than in the bubbles. I really like seeing the different languages.

Fishing rocks. I remember one night Eryn and I hung out behind the SoD HQ and fished for about 4 hours and just talked. He was getting upset b/c I was hooking fish on every cast and I think he caught 4 all night.

Gotta give it up to the scout skills...when I remade my character, I spent an entire night on naboo trapping, camping, and fishing. I hate camping and fishing in real life...but I tell ya...I had a blast.

I really enjoyed my first character a lot as a Ranger. I have fond memories of my first night playing the game and making a camp outside Coronet. And getting eaten alive by gubburs. I was such a newb.

Yeah.. master ranger was fun. I always got a giggle when I'd take some animal bones and hide (metal too?) and put up a camp with crafting stations, furniture and a satalite dish.
