Too bad we live in a society where commercials like these would have people screaming...other countries can be so much cooler than us some times.

I can see how some victims of car bombings may not like to see that on TV. From those who were seriously injured in a bombing to those whose friends and loved ones were lost.
Baaaad memory reference.

Ya know...
At first, I didn't think it was very funny. Maybe because I read Keer's post before I saw it.
But then after a bit, I remembered that I crapped my conscience out around 98' and then started chuckling uncontrollably.
Could it be offensive? Absolutely. Did I find it slightly hilarious? Guilty as charged.
British commercial?

I dunno, I watched it and was pretty shocked. Even though the advertising isn't lost on me and where the humor lies is evident, the commercial felt more serious and for me watched more like a short film than a commercial. I know I'm reading too much into it, but I guess just the way it was filmed, the details of the actor...I found myself watching it a few more times to try and pick out details and study his face and what he was wearing, the people around him. I guess the underlying situations and emotions that I wonder about, surrounding these types of events...it's too sad and sobering for me to find the humor, even after reflection. It brings up more questions about a fictional commercial character's life and his causes for me than sells the toughness of a car.
I wouldn't object to it being on American television, it just touches me in a different way than humor.

That was hilarious. I am sorry. Just some good clean humor. Well, messy, but clean. You know what I mean.

I figured that the explosion would like go around the car, and everyone be running around screaming while the car was actually fine..
It's not very funny this way.
