I just picked up this album by Disturbed, called The Sickness
they are a chicago band in the alternative/metal scene, for those that haven't heard of them
now before we get to the cover, go here and scroll down for samples and listen to "Stupefy" and "Down with the Sickness" to see what they are like...
then listen to Shout2000, it's a cover of Tears for Fears "shout"

I hadn't been paying attention to the song titles and it started playing, and I was going , "huh that sounds familiar...no....get the hell out"
I couldn't believe it...it sounds pretty cool, IMO
waits for the inevitable X'an /thumbsdown

your getting a whar /thumbsdown too... I am VERY familiar with disturbed, as is any rock fan.... the new burst of 80's song covers makes me sick, like Korn and their pathetic managerie of garbage...
on the other hand, the piano cover of "the sickness" used in dawn of the dead was freakin hilarious...
covering pathetic songs is just a way aroun a lack of creativity... now covering a good/decent song and doing a good job at it... there's something to be said for that...
(if its not apparent I hated the "new wave" of garbage 1 hit wonders of the 80's)

This is one of my favorite acts in the last couple of years. It's excellent music while your working out. You have to see them live though! They did a tour with Korn that was pretty good. I think they might have even done better than Korn in the set

Well, I personally don't like Disturbed but I really enjoy Tears for Fears. I heard a bit of this version one time and it made me cringe. Thats just me though. I like different genres of music, especially metal but these new metal bands just don't do it for me.

Tears for Fears were not a one hit wonder. They had several hits.

Speaking of "Tales From..." (Tears For Fears' album "Tales From the Big Chair") :-D
I met the guitarist/support vocal for Tears For Fears just last month. He's got a personal jet that's slicked out with a multichromatic paint job (changes color depending on the angle your're seeing it at). Crazy dollars to do that.
Too bad Tears couldn't follow up with another album of similar quality to "Tales From...", but judging from the way those guys are still living, "Shout" still gets them clout. And, oh yes, the jet was packed with honeys.
