Did anyone catch this new show with Dennis Leary (my hero) on FX last night? Goddamn was it good. Very funny with a bit of The Shield in it for drama. This is gonna be a show I watch faithfully.

I just caught the radio promo. "There ain't no medals on my chest. I'm not a hero. I'm a fireman."

I'm sorry, I just can't take Leary as a serious actor. It's just like when I see Ed O'neil in a cop drama. I think "Al Bundy, who are YOU arresting?"

Thats the thing, Leary isn't really all that serious. His humor translates well into this character. The show has a lot of humor to it but when he gets serious its that "Leary angry at the world" that he does so well.

Sure I'm a big fan but I'd admit it if this guy couldn't pull it off.

Well, I'd have to see it because I remember he didn't do too well on that last cop drama he was in.

I'll give ya that one. It had some funny moments but overall it was just written very badly. Plus the 3 comedians playing cops just wasn't selling itself to me.

George Carlin, and Richard Pryor. Need I say more?

What the hell are you two talking about?
I mean those 3 are great commedians (some of the tops ones in my book) but what does it have to do with Rescue Me?
