It doesn't matter what you want to call it, but I have an idea. It's been brewing in my head for quite a while now. I mentioned something to Dwilah about doing it, and after reading through every story in the IC section, I think we have more than enough people capable of doing this.

I got to thinking about how Nyase said the SWG book that was out there was pretty bad, and I thought what would make that book bad? I came to the conclusion it was because it didn't have any familiar characters, locations, or events in it. That's when my idea for all of this was born.

Basically, what I want to do is put together a small "book" filled with short stories that involve your character or characters you see on a day to day basis. I'm not trying to make one big book, nor write all of it. What I'm proposing is this.

Everyone who has written something IC for the site, or would like to, puts in their best story. It doesn't have to be long, whatever you'd want to contribute would be fine. I just want a good amount of submissions. I figure even if I put together 25 entries at 3 pages apiece, that's 75 pages worth of IC reading for someone to do.

So, what do you guys think?

I like. Now to get off my lazy ass and actually right something. Perhaps. 2nd Lt. Fears should have one explaining his 'underground'.

Your preaching to a follower of the life of being an author. I would do it with out taking a second thought. I have been waiting for the moment to share the story of Jaminos. Not very man know his name other then the few who RP. I would be honored to help wright a small chapter in this book.

Alright, so we have one.

Jaminos, if you have a good background story already written out for your character, feel free to use that. Or write something new. It's totally up to you.

As I'm sure will be no surprise to Nyase, my contribution would probably be my recently written story, "The Reassignment of MP-101."

Well I have several different backgrounds to choose from but I decided to just make a new one to fit with how Jaminos lives and acts aposed to what Jaminos would do if he were nice. No more touchy feely crap. People need to know the creature who slaughter thousands of innocent people to get to his objective.

I would have to say I second Jaminos' sentiment.
Whar may be seen around a little more often for a bit..
But if you think the stories regarding his past and such would be worth "adapting" I could easily do that, as well as some other work. I have been known to throw out cohesive fiction works without a lot of effort. They tend to get good reviews. Not to boast or anything, just letting you know I can be of service, and where I can help.

Ringo is down, if anyone wants to read the story of the failed media guru....heh heh, media guru, I like it.

Guys, this is going great! I actually thought specifically about Ringo and how his struggle with the Gorath Times would make a good story.

Whar, I'd love to see anything you've previously written. I've been on this huge reading kick lately.

One more thing, these stories don't all have to be stories of your past. I'm not saying that's not what I want, but I just want to let you know that you're free to write about whatever. Past stories, something in the present, some adventure you tagged along on, etc are all good for me.

To tell you the truth Tramel, this is what Tales from the Outer Rim is supposed to be...and online account of all of us. We're working on a system to more easily get stories from here to the main site at www.SWGTales.com. It should be up and runnng very soon and a lot of what we a;ready have here will end up permanently formatted onto the main site.

I'm not going to say that getting some of our stories published into book format wouldn't be unsalably cool though...that'd just rock and I'd be more than happy to contribute to that.

Well I am not saying we send this out to any major publisher or anything. I think the only people who would be interested are people from Gorath. Grant it a few would read it but I doubt it would be a best seller. Still all the same it would be the best.

Right, this was all I was going for. I figure I'd make people over the SOE - Gorath boards aware of it and maybe even talk about it in the roleplay forum. Maybe if we generate enough interest, we can do another one.

Then again, maybe I'm the only person who would be interested in doing it and it could fall flat, but you never know til you try.

I agree, it shouldn't just be a recap of our biographies, but rather just an event or interesting segment of our character's life. I'll try and get on mine fairly soon here.
