I know DT and Zannon don't like it... But am I really the ONLY person who liked Hellboy (the movie not the comic)?
I thought Ron Pearlman rocked! Just about every line he had got a giggle outta me. No, I'm not the best judge of movies, but I know what I enjoy... I'm just curious if I'm alone on this one or not?

Count me in! I love the comic, and I enjoyed myself at the movie. The movie didn't really do the comic justice but I still had a good time.

Eh, Hellboy was ok. I never read the comic (or any comics really) so I can't compare it

Well, I used to be a comic book junkie. I subscribed to about 40-50 different titles a month. I began to slow down buying comics right around July, 2003. Hmmm... that was right around the time I started playing SWG...E-bo Obi wrote:Eh, Hellboy was ok. I never read the comic (or any comics really) so I can't compare it
E-bo there are some wonderful works of fiction that were created in the comic book medium. Contrary to popular belief, Comic books are not all superheroes in spandex. There are some wonderful stories to be found. If anyone wants any of my recommendations, just ask

I have no doubt that there are some great titles. During my youth though I found Nintendo and tv more interesting than reading. I have really only started reading for enjoyment in the past 2 years.

I adored the movie even though it was masively diffrent from the comic (Abe and Liz aren't an item in the comic, there's several other characters that aren't in the movie that I love from the book...). Abe was marvelous, despite the fact that he didn't have nearly enough screen time.
Wanna get the "Plauge of Frogs" cycle from the comics - gives Abe's backstory supposedly....
There's another comic movie coming out (Sin City) that looks nearly marvelous! It's black and white! *swoons*
...yeah...I'm a geek. huzzah.

You're talking to a BIG Hellboy fan and I enjoyed the movie. I thought Ron Pearlmen did a great job as the character, and not just tough side but the part of him thats just a teenager which couldn't be easy to pull of.
I didn't mind the deviation from the comic story because as much as I love the comic it wouldn't translate well into a film as is. Honestly if the movie was JUST like the comic it would have been terrible. The comic is great as the comic and the movie was great as a movie.
Just remember that Mike Mignola, the comic's creator/writer/artist was on-set the whole way through and the director, a fan of the comic, took every bit of input he had.
So I don't blame people for not enjoying the film for one reason or another but in my book its tops.
