I don't care if this is 10 years old and you've all seen it 12 million times. Click the link and see it again and then wait and hour and check it out again. I actually had tears in my eyes looking at these and reading the captions...

This is why I fear conventions.... but go anyway
LoL I went to a convention once. I dressed up in red mando armor. I miss that armor but I had to sell it after my money went for a dump about two years ago. But ya, there are some very odd people.

heheh that is funny, and that sw convention (which some of those are definitely taken at, notice the ATA sign on the door) is coming up soon in Indy...
although he still did rp material from Triumph the insult comic dog, it's still good stuff
and the scary thing is that "han solo's lesbian sister" looks like someone i know, someone who knows someone who posts here, but I dare not say who, for a beating I will receive...

I'll have you all note...I took a picture of same woman at the last Gen Con that was in Milwaukee, WI...she must be a fan favorite.

Oh wow. I haven't seen a dippin dots since high school.
And I have often thought about getting a costume like in the movies. You know for halloween or what not. Maybe a ST or a jedi. Perhaps even the Leia in bondage one (too cold in october). Then I think about the cost of these things when I go online. It just makes me think its all insane.
And I wouldn't buy just some random halloween piece. it would have to be authentic (down to getting a nonfiring sten) for me to even be seen in it. Now comes part two of that. Someone would take a pic. It would end up on one of these peoples sites and I would be all pissed.
Flip it around though and I am laughing my ass off at these people.

The sad thing is...I look at that picture and think one thing...
I guess she doesn't plan on winning any quick draw contests with her blaster on that hip with the grip facing out.
...I think that means I suck.

I bought a tusken raider mask from a store a long time ago, and figured the rest of it would easy...that is until I tried to put the rubber mask on while wearing my glasses

To be honest, I thought some of the comments were a bit unwarranted. I didn't think they ALL looked bad. Granted, okay, there were a TON that deserved those comments. But a few of the costumes were actually pretty good.
I think the poster was just getting carried away with the rant.
And I don't know of ANYONE who does that. Ever. Much.

I agree that some costumes were not bad. The very first Rebel pilot ("Kajagoogoo") was good. His face even resembles the one pilot from the Death Star briefing that says something like "Two meters?! That's impossible."
But after that, steady laughing until a minute ago! I've never felt the urge to go to any fan convention of any kind and now I feel even less interested.
Thanks for the laugh avalanche. I really needed that right now.

Restoration 3 - Character Names
Keer Tregga
If you think about some of the actors from the film, if viewed in full costume but not recognized, would warrant a few cracks themselves. Take Wedge for example. We love the character but if we saw him at a convention and not recognized him as the actor from the film we'd throw out a "Oooooh its a sad day for the Rebellion indeed." I mean the first Star Wars cast wasn't exactly all celebrated and beautiful actors. There were some choice dorks in there.
But hey, maybe thats part of the reason we love the films so much.
