CH question

Creature Handler is without a doubt one of my favorite professions. One reason is because I find it quite funny to talk to my pets in front of random people. It lets me RP without actually having to involve anyone.
My question is, what pets do you think we need to see more of? Most people go after the rancors or other high damage beasties, but how much sense does it make to be walking around a town with a 40 foot beast?
I tend to prefer the canine species, but I reeeeally wish there was an animal that looked like a pitbull...that would make my day.
What do you guys wanna see?
Oh, and the Ysalmiri from the Shadows of the Empire series. They could look like a decorative tube that you wore instead of a backpack.

Definately go for the smaller, domesticated animal type. I'd say something like the cat template (tusk cat, swamp cat, etc) or the dog template (huurton, kusak, etc) species. I remember Nyase hada leviasquall for the longest time following him around. It went 1v1 with my dewback and won. I wasn't too happy about that.

Ah yes, the leviasquall of doom. How I miss it. Still trying to find someone to find me a meek avenging squall. As for pets, I agree with raggs. Of course, you could also go with something more along the lines of vermin or insects. Quenkers are decent last i heard.
As a none CH, I actually perfer the spineflap handmaiden. next to impossible to find, but a decent pet I think. But alas, I can't seem to find a CH to find me one, so i'm stuck with lamename, the kamikaze squall of doom.

Razor cats are my fav and a bio engineer can do wonders with a non CH pet. Krioja was made by a BE and is a Razor with a dizzy attack. Worked great with low blow.
Razor cats are also fast enough to keep up with a speeder bike

Oh, I 'm not concerned with a high quality pet, I have a couple that I use for hunting. But I am talking for just general companions. I have a Kusak that follows me around, along with my favorite, a giant crystal snake. I am not as fond of the cats as I am of the dog beasts.

I think they should introduce a highly hard to find pet, The Vornskr. I think they Creature handlers need a PvP addvantage, and the Vornskr would be perfect, especially against the Jedi. That and it wouldn't be a HUGE creature to clog the streets with.
I don't like it when glacial brings out his enormous Graul or his gapping spider. cause i can't see or target what i'm trying to fight. i think more small pets that have good damage would be great.
Thats my Opinoins. I also like the ysalmiri Idea.

Espada, you say that now... Until the big ape saves our hides, again.
I'm in the same boat. I really dislike the fact that my good hunting pets have to be HUGE or BE'd. I'm a CH, I like to tame and use things, not buy them. I suppose it makes sense that a large critter would be better in battle, but this is SW - "size matters not".
I like chillin' with mammalian-bipeds (aka monkey skins), but they move too slow to help when combat gets wild. Small mounts are alot of fun, especially when you get a caravan going (you travel w/me, ask to borrow a mount). I get attached to my critters, so I RP with whichever old-timer I have around. The only trend I'd like to see is more of everything. A pet is an expression of personality, Dwilah wants birds, Reb wants a Kusak, Nyase wants a real Nabooiene handmaiden, Espada likes his droid. I'm all for the variety.
Next time I'm just tooling around, I'll look for that 'spineflap Nyase. I won't offer speedy delivery, but I'll look when I can until I find one, or you get yours.

Yeah, Nyase, I will poke around for that handmaiden as well. I think taming animals is one of the more fun aspects of CH.

Before the revape for BH I use to be a CH myself. I use to run around with a BE Greater Sluge Panter names Othelo. I had a thing for naming all my pets after characters in Shasperian plays.

I loved CH myself, I'm sad to say I just had to drop it this weekend so I can pick up Commando 4,0,0,0 for the Jedi grind. Part of the problem was finding fun pets too, it just wasn't the same since trained pets aren't even as good as their wild equals.
I loved the Greater Sludge Panters and was a big fan of Cat like creatures. I wasn't big on the dogs because they don't have any big ones. There all small framed. Although I really liked Narglatches as well, I had a BE one Snarl that was my favorite pet.
All and all I just wish they had a larger variety in General. I plan on picking it back up once I finish the Jedi grind.

Nyase, I spent the better part of an hour hunting down a Spineflap handmaiden on Naboo for you...I got one, but it is going to grow to level 15. Was there a different breed you were thinking of? Maybe the spineflap guard?

You bring up a good point there Del'tar, don't you think it's safe to raise non-CH creature pet levels back to 15? I mean there isn't a real big difference in the pets other then a larger variety. And with the split of increasing your CH pet levels spread out so much through the profession I don't think dabblers are an issue anymore.

Ha! I just reached the same conclusion on the handmaiden. Too bad I didn't check back here or do my research first. Oh well, it game me something to hunt. Spineflap Drones are lvl 6 and look similar, I've got one on me right now.
Two things for CH's that would be awesome:
Give non-CHer's back up to lvl15.
-and-
My personal idea that I wish would catch on (but I'm too busy to plug it on the SOE boards): Give CH's the taxidermy! We could decorate houses with tamed-pets-turned decor!
Any other supporters?

Bah. Forgot they raised all the pet levels. Thanks for the effort guys. A spineflap Gaurd is like level 20, and to this day I still am reluctant to take one on in a fight. Hmmm.......if a drone looks the same and can be used by none CH, guess that'll do. How I miss my hand maidens though.
On a seperate note, if you're ever looking for those, hit up rori. Less lag there and a lot more open spaces.
