although he did not state in the website, that the picture was staged, and not taken when they actually raised it...although the stories of those men and the troubles they went through were real

Actually, from what I had been taught in my military science history course, was that THAT flag raising was not staged as many people claim, but that it was a flag raising at another point on the same mountain, just not the tippy top.

Don't recall the specifics, so I am no authority.

Not staged. Just the only one caught on film during its first raising.

Just goes to show that Melee Professions kicked but even back then! Look at him! No Armor, no weapons, and not a scratch on him. Must've called the rest of them panzies as he leaped out of the plain without a parachutte!

Like Monty Python, I always enjoy some good satire. And that is good cultural event satire. Bring on the brave talking fish that saved us from a surprise attack during WW2! (no, not that one, that fish was eaten for treason)
