Finished Video: "Cosmic Girl"

My video is finally finished after weeks of daydreaming in the car on the way to school listening to the song, then a bit of planning, and then actual filming and editing!

I want to thank everyone who helped me out with this film. I took literally hours of clips but I had to pick and choose, shrink it down to a measley four minutes.

This was all just for fun but I'm super pleased with how it all came out--I really hope that when y'all see it, you'll like it as well. Right now the only way to get it is by contacting me via AOL Instant Messenger for a file transfer...it's a pretty big file (57.6 MB) so it's taking on average about 40 min to an hour to DL, but...well...it's worth it! (I think.)

It flowed like a real music video.. I totally dug it. My daughter was excited to see my toon in the video.. she would look for her as the scenes changed.

Thanks everyone...I really loved this project.

I have a thirty minute commute to and from school every day, so I listen to music and stuff. I had been on a Jamiroquai kick like several months ago, like at the end of last summer, and like in January I pulled out my old CD I'd made and put it in to see what was on it. Cosmic Girl was one of the songs on it and I got stuck on it, and I started thinking of different fun scenes you could do for a dance video with SWG.

I do this with a lotta songs I listen to...I dunno what made me actually try to go for this one. I thought about it for a month before I actually made a list of costume parts in class one day (bad Dwilah, I know) and then asked Noc's venerable mayor about making them.

Then I started making the posts and asking around over the course of February I made the different shoots...Trekkers came first, then the Iths, then the yacht, then the band, and finally the cosmic girls.

I couldn't've done it without Zannon, who did me a huge favor Saturday morning by making the boots for the outfits (I had forgotten...doh) but I had to run out to do stuff IRL that day...Jabe for hosting it...and of course, everyone who was in it for putting up with my directing and sorta vague ideas at times.

I have been so excited about this and so happy about this project...I'm just really glad to be able to share it with everyone and that people seemed to have had a good time being a part of it.

Fun facts...

--19 characters appeared in the film (that counts the pilot of the yacht for the outdoor scenes, Justarous).
--I paid out around 400k to people in the vid (and y'all deserve every bit of it).
--I took about 13 GB of video clips total to choose from.
--In the middle of shooting the Cosmic Girls I had to stop and delete other things off my secondary harddrive because my computer was beeping at me, "I'M FULL! I'M FULL! STOP!!!"
--The band scenes were originally going to be shot in Naboo space...but half of them weren't JtL enabled! LoL.
--I made waaaay too many costumes. Oof.
