AFK Macros

Last night is the first time I tested an AFK macro. I am tired of my character being logged if I step away for a bit, because you can't even reconnect. I fell asleep while AFK and to my surprise Jabe was logged in all night until the server shutdown.

I am curious on what other people use for macros. I am trying to use something that is invisible or at least minimally annoying. I am also wondering what the max amount of time I can set for the /pause command is so I perform an action as few times as possible while I am away.

Any suggestions?

I've used a pause as long as 600 seconds (that's 10 minutes for the mathematically challenged). I think you can do more.

Don't assume your macro will always keep you on. Sometimes you can be on for days, sometimes you get kicked after a few hours.

I will bump it to 600 seconds.. Thanks.

I think a few hours (even if thats the most) is mroe than enough for my needs. I am just tired of coming back within 30 minutes and having to fully reload the client.

I have one that is:

/pause 500;
:shifts uncomfortably;
:checks time;
/pause 500;
:looks around impatiently;
/think I should go do something;
/pause 500;
:looks around to see if anyone is watching;
:adjusts himeslf;
/pause 500;

I've gotten some pretty funny e-mails from people regarding that one. I use it most of the time if I have to go check on the baby.

I have one macro I tend to play with and while most of the time I just sit/stand every every 300 pause, if I'm in a place with interesting static things sometimes I'll change it to interact with those. Like sometimes if I'm in Eisley I'll change it to :speaks quietly with the group of Jawas. Or something like that.

Well for me it helps to be a dancer. At least while we can use em we have recuring flourish macros that keeps us dancing the night away

I really don't understand the question. I just don't want to be auto-logged out. Macros for crafting or otherwise are of no interest to me.

repeating macros will we impossible after a upcoming patch, i guess? This would make AFK-Macros impossible in general...... or you write a very loooooong macro *g.

Well overall, I can't wait for looping macros to go away. I would like to see SOE not only do that but take a more aggressive approach to killing off AFK entertainers and buff bots.
