I greatly apologize to everyone for the poor performance this site is experiencing at the moment. I know it has been terrible for the past few days and we have all been experiencing the same timeouts, refused connections and slow page loads.

This is a serious issue as we have just switched to a new host in an attempt to solve our lag issues and it seems this new host is letting us down.

I assure you I am on top of this and I will raise hell if necessary to get this host to deliver the service they guarantee their customers. If they do nothing to rectify this we will go elsewhere.

Again, I am sorry for the inconvience. Just know the SWG Team is doing everything we can.

I'm sure none of us mind that much. I know you are all doing the best you can, and all things considered I think you've all done a great job. So if there are a few lag problems I don't mind.

I appreciate the vote of confidence Hashum. If there was anything any of us could do ourselves to improve performance believe me we'd be calling off work to do it right now.

I finally recieved a response to my not-so-pleasant e-mail about our peformance to the web host. According to them they are working on the server right now and will have the problem resolved "as soon as possible."

Well I won't be happy until we are running like a Wookiee from a bath.

Its up and loading a ilttle better..but still lagging.

If they do not fix it, We can always storm the building and take all the money you ever payed on them and then leave.

I am sure you guys will get it fixed, you are gifted in an art that I only wish I could have.

allthough I doubt his seriousness, should you decide to take a course of action like Jaminos suggested just drop me a location. I'll tear through that place like a human seige weapon.

For all those lucky enough to read this...

It seems the web server this site and about 800 others are hosted on have fell victim to a massive DOS attack. A DOS (Denial of Service) attack is where someone has hacked into many online computers on the web and has caused those computers to send an endless string of pings to a site or sites on the server thus causing the CPU of the server to overwork and make the server overload and shutdown.

Our host's tech team assures us they are working around the clock to protect the server. They cannot give us an ETA as to when the server will be functioning at normal capacity. We will do everything we can to let everyone know the progress of this situation.

Even though this is out of our hands the SWG Tales Team apologizes for the inconvienence. Please bear with us as we get over this hump. After the problem has been fixed we should not have this same problem again.

Thanks for the update Seret. I have to say it seems to have gotten MUCH better over the last few hours. I haven't had much of a problem since either late morning or early this afternoon.

I just got on and the site is smoking. I am very pleased. I can only hope it lasts.

If by awesome you mean pissing off a tech guy who was working on it anyway by sending a scathing customer service ticket then yes.... it was awesome.

UPDATE:

We are sailing again but we're not out of the rough waters yet.
The server is back online but we will probably still experience some lag now and again. These issues should be minimal.
