The Role of the Contractor
The contractor will notify the Galactic Bounty Office of their intentions to place a contract on a mark by any of the following means.
- 1. Post a contract on this forum using the format of: OPEN CONTRACT ON "character name".
2. Offer an item to the Galactic Bounty vendor with the mark's name and bounty payout on it.
The Galactic Bounty vendor will be updated DAILY as to what bounties are opened and closed. Expect a 24 hour turn-around time on NEW CONTRACT LISTINGS hitting the vendor. Bounty data chips will contain the Mark's name, race, and the bounty amount as were limited to character amounts on item names. The format will look something like this:
Bounty: Novall Talon 200,000 upon delivery of mark. Contact: Kirt Viza
Contracts held by the Galactic Bounty Office will remain active for approximately 3 real world weeks before being reviewed by the office as to weather or not it should remain active in the office or sent back to the Contractor for private hunter assignment.
There is a 5k charge for entrance into the Technical Wing outside of MERCS members (Its part of your stronghold) and building administrators that ALL CONTRACTORS MUST PAY! Even if a contractor posts a bounty on the boards, it WILL NOT BE OFFICIAL till the 3k transfer is made to Myself, Anira(vendor keeper), or Hashum/Quelari. This 5k goes to paying for the vendor, the resources for making the data-chips, maintaining the office, and giveing the mark a little something for their volunteering. This 5k is in no way pocketed by myself or anyone listed above...just to clear that up.
Bounties are open until the contractor either contacts myself to officially close the contract, or they post in the "Closed Contracts" thread that the contract has been fulfilled.
Contractors may ONLY hire specific hunters for a bounty after the three week time period for posted ACTIVE bounties has passed.
Role of the Bounty Hunter
The hunter may freely check the Galactic Bounty Office for new bounties at their own accord. Like the contractor, a hunter must pay the 5k access fee to enter the office. This "registration" fee goes towards paying maintenance for the vendor, office, and giving a little something back to the mark.
All hunters are encouraged to read the "Rules of the Hunt" we have posted here on the forums as to what you can and cannot do for RP bounties.
Bounties are posted with limited information to help create realism as well as give you the opportunity to "hunt" a mark instead of just waiting around for them.
All participating hunter for RP bounties will register on the "Galactic Bounty Hunter Roster" thread here.
Hunters who complete a contract will contact either myself, or post a reply of "Job Completed" with an attached date of completion to the contract request in the bounty's associated thread so that payment of the bounty may be made swiftly.
The Role of the Mark
The role of the mark is most simple. Stay alive as long as you can.
It is suggested that you take the role of the mark as "in character" as you possiably can without hurting your gameplay. The object of being a mark is staying alive, so you wouldnt see one living it up outside Coronet Starport.
Marks are considered "ACTIVE" targets for approximately 3 real world weeks, however after that time a contractor may opt for a private hunter to obtain the bounty, thereby removing the contract from the public office.
The mark will recieve a complimentary payment yet to be determined for their involvement in the system.
