Time for a template change?

I've been tossing around the idea of going back to BH for a few weeks now. Everyone in MERCS is BH except for me at this point the only thing I am afraid of is that by dropping 50% of TKA...is that gonna make me more vulnerable?

Right now as it stands...as master pistoleer and TKA, and smuggler 0040, I have the best pistol attacks in the game and the best damage/speed profession under my belt. I dont wanna give up pistols, because thats my primary profession...but I dont really wanna give up the ability to fall back to TKA when I need to.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Well Novall as you told me, you cannot be invulnerable. If you want to be a BH such as I, you have to sacrifice all those nice Tk attack and Defence. If you do get BH, keep the meditation at all cost's as well as the defence.

Personally, I like my template right now that is very similar to your's. It's Smuggler 4342 (going to master), Master Pistoleer, and TKA 0003.

One of my alts is BH 0400 and carbine 3333 (going to master) and I really like to fight with him. The combo of Carbine and BH specials are a lot of fun to play with.

That's a tuffy. I mean, on the one hand Pistoleer is one of the most broken on specials still. On the other; Smuggler has the best Pistols specials. You can't go BH, Pistoleer, and smuggler. Well, not and get anything useful out of it I don't think.

I'd say go with what you enjoy playing. I find myself in a bit of a burnout phase myself with Batty and Vreese. Vreese will remain a Master Fencer up untill having to surrender everything for Jedi. Batty... is about in the same boat except I'm stuck with Master Artisan till I can get a AV-21 powerplant to drop that and Master Merchant to pursue TKM.


And my new villan, Espan Grieves, I think I'm going BH with him. He is pretty well the stereotypical 'hates aliens' ex-Impy Wanna-be slaver/crimelord though. I think I could use some advice myself.

You have a very good template right now. Unless you are bored with it and want to try something else (believe me I understand that) then I would keep it. It doesn't matter if all the MERCs are BHs because you can be in-character whoever you want to be. Who says a BH character has to have BH skills? I say its all in your image not your template.

If templates really mattered for our characters then we'd never really drop them. I mean I used to have all kinds of Marksmen skills, Smuggler Skills and I was a Master Commando. In-character how is it possible that I forgot how to use a flamethrower or pistol? Did someone smash me in the head before I went an all-brawler template?

Go with what you have fun with.

That encompasses all the pistol certs and specials available in the game, and the nov. commando is great so I can have access to the launcher pistol which does Blast Dmg. and is my pistol of choice because it makes such a ruckus.

He has a wide variety of dmg. types available and it is a great PvE template, and isn't too shabby in PvP (of course there is a lack of defense)

I personally love ranged, especially pistols and love this template and don't think I will ever give it up.

Succumb to the dark side. Bounty Hunter is great, Last Ditch maybe more powerful the Eye Shot and Torso Shot but you get selection with bounty hunter and I can't imagine that the damage is THAT much better. Having the option to blind almost at will, and then flame someone is great.

Just my opinion but being able to effectively take someone out with 2 of the 3 HAM is very nice. And you could still keep the TKA meditate line or one of the defense lines. Although I've found with master Pistoleer the defense isn't much of a problem.
