Apparently "God" syndrome is far from gone..

I am tired of people showing up to these RP events buffed acting like they're some kind of unbelieveble force in the universe... I dueled a guy tonight at the Roba who was openly defiant of the Imperial officers there (mind it there were about 7 of us). He already beat the hell out of one guy so I dueled him as well. I was two hits in before I realized he was buffed to the hilt.

So he finished me off, and even though I had no chance in hell of doing anything to this guy - he DB's me for good measure. SOOO... When I get back he's meditating in the garden across from the Roba bragging how he killed two men.

Apparently TTF is not about following their own rules, there's no weapons allowed but their guys are sure as hell ready for a fight. I came to the Roba unbuffed and wasn't expecting a fight. After looking at four other TTF guildies they were buffed as well.

After this rant, its a done deal to me. I am not going to center any more RP around this event other than just being a quiet attendee. Imperial crackdowns are pointless when there is minimal compliance. Not to mention that everyone seems to plan on fighting before they show up. If it was me starting a fight, I would probably get banned.. But TTF griefing at their own event is apparently ok.

At the very least could have ended the duel and let me look like a weakling. It would have been the honorable thing to do since I had zero chance of winning. So much for the honorable roleplayer...

I was there and went outside to see the imp "strong talk"

they had at least 4 pc's, 3-4 st's including dark, and even an atst at one point

would they duel? nope

it was soooooooo stupid

"we're the imps, rebels are scum, leave your own town, we rule the galaxy"

"quit talkin and start fightin"

"we're the imps, rebels are scum, leave your own town, we rule the galaxy"

ugh, adios

That's too bad. I have some really fond memories of that place. Believe it or not, this time last year, Fridays at The Crazy Roba was like stepping into an RP Instance.

My current work schedule hasn't allowed me to go to the Roba for a long time. I'm hoping one day that "the spot on the moon" will be back as it once was. My little Star Wars Casablanca.

*sniff*

If you were paying attention jabe some dumb wookiee started buffing people. Some people that showed up unbuffed got buffed even thought they didnt want to. And imperials shouldnt be at stuff like that anyways.... Everyone i know walked in and then sent me tells complaining. I had like 5 or 6 people coming to try it out but then they saw all the st's and left. St's arent going to be in some towns cantina on a moon of a major planet controlled by another faction. but thats just my 2 cents.

I do have to agree with you jabe, I saw 4 imperial ST's ((PC)) talking to some trando and he kept saying fight me all then used the term "Fags", this is BS not just for the term but think about it you want to fight lets say an imperial ST, in ARmor guess what first off you have to be unbuffed, second you have to fight all of them not just one, Im tired of watching people say I will kill you all but...one at a time sorry, NO! I will have a talk with the ViceRoy and I will get on the robas admin list and I WILL START BANNING PEOPLE WHO DO NO FOLLOW THE RULES, even the viceroy himself..just for my own amusement tho, but like I said and this goes for all roleplayers at these event and Next friday after I talk to the viceroy if you come in the roba and the Imperials are their for a search and you go all "John wayne" thinking you can handle all of them, I will have you banned from the town if you dont fight all of them.!

the whole event was retarded

it's one thing to show up to a usually rebel bar with a bunch of imps, throwin the weight of the emperor around

it's another thing to drag in 1-2 st's with each pc, all with guns out, filling the cantina and then being racists, then on top of that, when asked to fight, the imps would not under any circumstances

they just walk around and spout the same bullshit over n over n over

it is so fucking tiring

I agree with you, But if you want to think of them as marines. Are you going to go into a bar filled with uniformed marines maybe say 6 of them and start yelling "Jar head", NO your not cause they will all get up and kick your ass together, you need to respect the fact that at the moment they are the Occupying force in the galaxay cause the rebellion is under ground. If you do like I did which was keep my distance and then when they approached me even though I could toss up my Master SGT tag and outrank alot of them, I didnt they asked if there was a problem and I politely said "No, everything is ok" and they nodded and went about their business Now yes I can understand the whole racist thing, but when you go into a cantina and NPC's are spouting the same crap and your unbuffed and your Uber armor is gone...would you still attack them even though their are only three? No your not hell i run around as a combantant and its a pain when Im unbuffed and coronet is changing sides like my underwear.

Just like that Pvt sguy said "You attack us and this place will be swarming with Stormtroopers and we may bomb the city", ya know what a unit doing a routine search of the place goes missing and say we had a CSR runing things behind them, what makes you think he wouldnt just do that if he could.Think a bit more on what would happen IRL if you want this game to hold more ground. I have yet to run head first into PvP since the whole GODing is crazy, everyone needs to learn one special thing YOUR NOT A HERO CHARACTER, YOUR AN AVERAGE EVERYDAY JOE! Hell I was in ST armor in Noc having fun bothering one person and 3 of his buddies show up and I started to back down. And guess what you all need to do that as well, if 5 ST's show up and theres only 2 of you..Back down take the insults they will stop when you give them their respect BUT if you catch them alone outside when they disband...then start talkin smack.

This is the number one reason why I hate the duel system. I do understand that its a nessisarry part cause of all the fight club rejects running around ruining professions when ever they find the new uber template. However, you get these situations where people can talk all the smak they want and there is no reprocutions as long as the smak talker refuses duels.

As for the buff thing I never realized that this was standard prosedure but I did notice that Toront was buffed when the TTF showed for the slave event. Maybee they do buff for the Roba. I'll ask my guild mates to comment on this so we all know what the offical stance on this is.

Well first off, Talus is not a moon and if it were I wouldn't see the point. I don't understand people who complain about GCW related RP when the game is centered around the fact that there is a GCW in the first place.

All I am saying is that I didn't come to do this Imperial inspection, these guys did and as a known Imperial I took orders from the ranking officer. In return for trying to keep some realism I got pwned by some d00d with superhero syndrome.

However if its a problem for Imperials to show up on occasion and harass the locals, I simply won't do it anymore. Obviously more than one person in this thread thinks its a problem. I'll stop participating in anything other than /giggle and /flirt so you guys can go back to whining about 'orgies'.

yeah buffed vs unbuffed is lame... I saw a number of buffed people at the roba, but i did not see any of this fighting. I think one problem is that a lot of rebels feel that if they kill some stormstroopers in a public place, nothing will happen...

I think banning those who abuse the dueling policy (even if its just for a short time) is a good idea.

I said in my post that a low level wookiee doc starting buffing ppl without asking. Most the people that were buffed couldnt help it including myself. I was talking to someone and suddenly i watched my stats double.
The real problem isnt imperial harassment its the fact that when rebels harrass back the imperials dont respond. There were many more rebels around the st's than imperials. Rebels just dont wear the gear. If all the rebels there were wearing marine armor it would have been 2 rebels for every 1 imp so the whole have to fight all of them statement doesnt really work unless the imps want to fight all the rebels.

Not to mention i watch storm troopers flirting with twi'lek women and such which makes absolutley no sense on many levels lol.
I say if your going to throw your faction around come special forces so everyone can attack each other and make sure we dont have any docs that are uninformed buffing people because they think they are helping.

Basicly if your not able to be attacked your not a member of the faction as far as im concerned and I've spoken to several other people who agree with me. If some dont agree maybe there should be rules drawn up and emailed to all roleplayers so they can understand how exactly to handle the situation.

best way to look at it in my opinion is this...

rebels are the underdogs, we need to remain hidden and pick our battles. so fighting a group of storm troopers conducting a search would not be in the best interest of the rebellion. but following them, and doing recon to find out more info on why they came this time, or who they were looking for makes sense.

as for the doctor, its unfortunate, but if your buffed...dont fight. its just not fair.
