Oh.. and a little spoonful of credit should go to Batty as well for starting that arc.

Leaving it open ended is what makes it appealing. Your players will feel like their actions matter. That is huge for immersion....develop into an open-ended arc I hadn't really planned on.

Although we still have a lot of room to develop our own stories and it is a great time in the overall Star Wars lore, this is exactly why the game should be in a different timeline in my opinion. That is my main gripe with SWG.Ekade wrote:Events with a forgone conclusion sometimes leave the players feeling like their actions are irrelevant.

And just to clarify.. I was not referring to the SW timeline in general.. but rather player created events where the end is written at the same time as the beginning. I am not saying this is always a bad thing. I am just suggesting an open ended approach may prove to be more immersive.trasgo wrote:Although we still have a lot of room to develop our own stories and it is a great time in the overall Star Wars lore, this is exactly why the game should be in a different timeline in my opinion. Sorry to derail the thread a bit, but I found Ekade's line to be very profound in regards to this game. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE this game but that is the one aspect I would have changed.
Ok, back to your regularly scheduled thread...

I know you didn't mean that, Ekade. When I read that line that was what popped into my mind though. I apologize for getting off topic. I also endorse open ended stories for improv's sake. It is nice to be able to make an impact on the outcome of a story.Ekade wrote:And just to clarify.. Yes the writing is very good. We can't forget Dwilah now, too as her cntributions are great as well!Ekade wrote:Just wanted to let you guys know I am enjoying your RP posts in "The Planning" thread.
