I fly the Canadair Regional Jet 700, a 70 seat jet made by Bombardier...it is a recently made jet (just a few years old compared to other airline jets that are 30 years old or more)
One of the features of the cockpit is that it is all "glass," meaning we have no guages like people think of when they think of cockpits...we have just tv screens that display multitudes of info...

the middle 2 screens display all the warnings and system info, the left and right screen are the navigation screens for each side...
here's a closeup of the pilots screens...(links cuz they are bigger)
http://www.skull1.com/crj2screens.JPG
the left screen shows an overview of the course plotted in the Flight Management System...
from left to right across the top...
UTC: Universal time
(TAS)True Airspeed 481 knots (553 mph)
(GS) Groundspeed 495 knots (570 mph)(this is the speed scross the ground due to the wind pushing you)
(SAT) Standard Air Temp -49 degrees C
(TAT) Total Air Temp -19 temp (this temp takes into effect the speed we are traveling...the faster you go, the more air friction there is, thus causing heat, so this is the temp of the layer around the leading edges of the aircraft)
Underneath those are some "waypoints" of our trip...we took off from runway 22Left at O'Hare 189 nautical miles back, we are 5 nm from SVM...coming up next is London, Ontario in 119nm in 15 minutes, and our final destination is CYUL (Montreal) in 474 nm in 1 hr, 10 min.
under CYUL is 340/53 and an arrow...that's the wind at that altitude (yep it can figure that the wind is coming from 340 deg at 53 knots) and that's a little slow for this altitude
Under that is a compass rose showing we are heading 84 degrees (about east) with the course mapped out underneath, and the range is set to 320 nm (range can be set from 5 - 640nm)
ok now the right screen:
-this screen is the main screen we use...it combines all instrument of a normal aircraft onto just one screen
-1/2bank: autopilot is in half bank mode (don't want high banks at high alt)
-M.824: means we are moving at Mach .824 or 83% of the speed of sound...this is the fastest airline jet there is...nothing is faster

-FMs2 and ALTS are the autopilot modes we are using..
-39000 in magenta is the altitude selected for the autopilot
-left hand side of screen: this is the "speed tape"...it is a moving slide that displays our airspeed in knots...the red bar in the slide is the max speed line
-right side of screen is the "altitude tape" and it slides up and down displaying our altitude, currently 39000 feet
-in the middle is our ATTitude indicator that shows what sort of flight attitude you are in (currently straight n level)...blue is up, brown is down

below that is another compass rose, with a Course Deviation Indicator (the arrow) which shows how far off course you are...the middle section of the arrow moves left and right to tell you where your course is...ideally you want it centered
-to the right if the compass rose, is our Vertical Speed Indicator...the arrow angles up or down, showing your climb rate in feet/minute
that's about it...any questions feel free to ask...
