Anybody else on Comcast having VERY slow DNS response times? I can ping my DNS servers but the reponses time out and then goes back to normal and times out again intermittantly. This goes for both primary and secondary servers.
I checked my connection and thats fine, I still top off on speed tests, etc - so I am not dropping packets. I also have no connectivity problems once I have a host name established in my cache. Just curious if its just me.

I'm on Comcast but I have no idea what you are talking about. Like I know its english, but can't understand a word. What's a DNS server?

Yeah, I was having big time problems last night.
I was finally able to connect with WoW and stay connected after a couple hours of struggling.

It was terrible yesterday. Timeouts and just plain connection refusals galore. I haven't checked today.

Those are about $650 a month where I live... Plus my transfer rate is 4.5 megabits on Comcast. It would be slower.alexandria nexus wrote:DNS= Domain Name Server

4.5 megabytes a second transfer rate on your cable? and what would be slower? do tell perhaps to the t1 1.5ps speed but thats on a fractional and you couldnt dare compete with the OC3 or DS3 speed of 44.7mbps- 155mbps speed =) which is bidirectional for all three technologys unlike cable. yours is 4.5 one way and very low end the other. speed is nice very very nice if it works upload and download.

Well, my flux capacitor DSL Modem gets me 1.21 jigiwatts of power when I engage the tachyon boost.alexandria nexus wrote:4.5 megabytes a second transfer rate on your cable? and what would be slower? do tell perhaps to the t1 1.5ps speed but thats on a fractional and you couldnt dare compete with the OC3 or DS3 speed of 44.7mbps- 155mbps speed =) which is bidirectional for all three technologys unlike cable. yours is 4.5 one way and very low end the other. speed is nice very very nice if it works upload and download.

I only care about upstream for the most part... my upstream rate is 768k which is plenty fast for me. Its simply the most kilobits for my buck. Plus I am the only person under the age of 60 on my block so I got it all to myself.alexandria nexus wrote:4.5 megabytes a second transfer rate on your cable? and what would be slower? do tell perhaps to the t1 1.5ps speed but thats on a fractional and you couldnt dare compete with the OC3 or DS3 speed of 44.7mbps- 155mbps speed =) which is bidirectional for all three technologys unlike cable. yours is 4.5 one way and very low end the other. speed is nice very very nice if it works upload and download.
If I dropped money on a OC3 or DS3 I would probably want about 50 class C IP's to go with it and the pricing for that is borderline insane these days.

im sure if you implimented a circuit switch data switch to your modulation demodulation unit you would be quite comperable to take on such bandwidth utilization and termination. However it would be wise to ensure your modulation unit is on dec-3 dotter boards so that it resists the heat residuiliztion when the 3.5 volts run concurrently through its pathways to the buffer prefect. always a good tip. never place a written code word on your complimentry metaloxide semi conductor firmware......because if you forget it. your sucking wind for awhile =)Well, my flux capacitor DSL Modem gets me 1.21 jigiwatts of power when I engage the tachyon boost.

Great Scott! I can only download at a speed of 88 miles per hour!X'an Shin wrote:Well, my flux capacitor DSL Modem gets me 1.21 jigiwatts of power when I engage the tachyon boost.alexandria nexus wrote:4.5 megabytes a second transfer rate on your cable? and what would be slower? do tell perhaps to the t1 1.5ps speed but thats on a fractional and you couldnt dare compete with the OC3 or DS3 speed of 44.7mbps- 155mbps speed =) which is bidirectional for all three technologys unlike cable. yours is 4.5 one way and very low end the other. speed is nice very very nice if it works upload and download.
