okay, so several of you may have heard me talking about this crazy Rodian inspired Gladiatorial dueling event. well... its just like that!

Whar has come up with an idea for a competition. He has been toiling away to make special outfits for an authentic arena style combat event. He hopes that it will be fun, competitive, and bring large crowds from all over!

Basically the contest is to determine a Master Duelist. The Master Duelist recieves a special uniform, and Duel armor.

All combatants start, and signify their enrollment in the event with the purchase of their Dueler's Uniform. (found in the Whartech HQ building behind the trade depot in Noc) All combatants are REQUIRED to wear only these uniforms into the Duels. Weapons for the event will all be distributed or sold to participants.

Each fighter's armor and weapons will be well matched. So far this is only for Melee's

Each uniform, or Gladiator armor, is roughly the same. Authentic armor can be distinguished by creator markings (Whar) and the name given to the idividual parts. Each set is being named, and each run of the uniform aside from the prototypes are recieving consecutive numbers.

If you would like to participate, and recieve the Title of master Duelist, then step right up!



Remember though: This event relies on use of the Honor system. There is also a lot of prestige for doing well in this event. The Master Duelist should be honored socially especially when wearing the Duelist's signature uniform...

ABSOLUTELY NO- Buffs during the event. If you have them, you cant fight. No spice No doc buffs No Force Crystals--- NONE!
Weapons will be assigned by a GM at the event. The armor or uniforms can be purchased from the Vendor at Whartech HQ, the two versions of armor and the duelists uniform are on display in the HQ building (normal combatant uniforms are upstairs.

Good luck on this.. I tried doing a fight night and the interest was nil.

I remember there being lots of interest and discussion, there just wasn't any system that was settled on to work with from people pushing it and so then it died off.

I'm curious about the Rodian Gladiator aspect of this event. Could we have more information about how that's going to affect the event, Whar?

also maybe some pics of these "special" uniforms and armor might be nice, if this is the theme...

It's the ol' uniform. I think Seret is interested.

Whar is putting a lot of effort into this so; I'll step up to the plate and offer Vreese in as a duelist for the first matches.

If I may make a suggestion here, Whar.

You need to list the following:

1)Set us up a date and time and place. I think Nym's Palace fighting ring would be a grand first place to hold it myself. ((Nym standing faction could present a problem though. But a couple of Blood Razor missions clears that right up))

2) Indeed, you need to list what the suit is. I'll just say right now it's mostly a Chitan armor getup but looks keen with the the pieces and bits of clothing he's decided to use.

3) Ranking. If it's to be a really good Dueling match. You'll likely have a set up for fighting where we're forced to fight with weapons we're not used to. Thus, for example, Jabe would beat me hands down as MTK vs MF most likely. However, put a sword in his hand, and it may be a different story. Basically, I'm saying have us fight throughout the four melee professions. One round of one hand, one of two hand, so on and so forth.

That's all I can think of for now other than... sign me up. But I would like to encourage Jabe and Dariis to perhaps help Whar out with this. We want an ongoing Dueling tourney... Here's your opportunity folkes!

I like your ideas and am interested in seeing how they play out! Don't be afraid to try things, you could always tweak the rules for future events.

First thing is first, Im probing for interest... The weapons are being made, and Im getting the rules and themes drawn up, hopefully I can give a more in depth description tonight when Im not trying to get ready for work or on my lunch break.

What kind of fighting are you looking for? Melee, ranged? I would be willing to fight.
