Hey folks, as I've been recently playing in the night owl hours I've come across more and more German and European RP'ers. One of them a longtime acquaintance who would like to try RP in German first before testing her english skillz.

Does anyone have a listing or a link to some dedicated German RP guilds and/or their websites?

That sounds cool, I just wish I knew German as good as I use to.

Germans are a blast to RP with. They were so cool they would actually RP in English when I was around so I would not feel left out.

Unfortunately RL demands that I cannot play at the same times they do anymore.

I have a fun time roleplaying with Germans as Dweev... Since alot of them cant understand Ithorian for some reason... Neither of us can understand eachother... and it works out somehow.
Plus using alot of emotes to get your point across is always fun.

I can't come up with rp guilds right now, but http://forum.swgchronicles.org/ is a community site just like ours, from german roleplayers.
I'm sure everyone who wants to find german guilds and players can take this as a start ;)

I can try to make a list of the more prominent german rp guilds sometimes during the next days if it will be still needed.

I do believe Kherba ((again, my spelling is probably off)) city on Tatooine was founded mostly by a german community. I know <Bomb> has some European players in it as well. Indeed, most I've come across are excellent RPers and do their best to maintain courtesy ig... but stay true to the roles of Rebel vs Imperial as well. And I've found those that do know English are more than willing to give you pointers and useful phrases.

My older brother learned fluent German in college while I was growing up in highschool and I've had to listen to a lot of it though I don't have much experience with the written form except from experiences here on Gorath. However, here are some useful phrases I believe you might be able to use ig;

"Entschuldigung, Ichkann kein deutsch." which is "I can't speak German."

and my sisters will love this one...

"Gebt dem fraeulien trink geld." wich is "tip the dancer."

Please chime in if I'm a little rusty on those.

Thanks for your input Dasumi & folks. I personally have checked out two German sites listed in the SOE Rolpeplay Forum with as much practical result as possible for someone who can't speak German :lol:

In talks yesterday with Yala, I've also made initial contact with a "go to" German player that she recommended. I'm waiting for a response to my game mail.

Last year I made some nice contacts within Suwyo Plains in east central Lok, a German community. I'll be following up on those as well.

Also last year, Dwilah and me met a German named Eaglestar who wanted to form an Imperial Role Play guild. He was pretty good and I referred him to Tramel. I've spoken with Eaglestar yesterday, but time didn't allow for extended conversation. I'll get back on it.

That would be greatly appreciated. Even if there's a language barrier, I can either meet them halfway or from experience I've noticed that there's usually one English speaker that can accomodate me. I kinda get a kick out of the language barrier at times. There's some immersion in having to connect through an "alien language" even for a Smuggler

Wey and I ran into a German Imperial RPer checking IDs not to long ago. Naturally we played along

Afterwards, we talked about RP and such and we gave him Nyase's name to contact and pointed him to this site.

Wish I could remember his name

Especially www.starwarsgalaxies.de/forum is a very good recommendation, that's one of the forums where, as far as i know, a majority of the german rp community comes together.
You'll find most german cities and guilds writing there.

I'll try to work on that list tomorrow, Keer, and if there's any language problems just give me a tell, if i'm ingame i'll be glad to help

I was arrested by a German roleplayer named Kawa once. This was waaaaaay back. I ran into him again a few months ago, he was in a scene with Tramel's alt.

I told him how I remembered the arrest. I think that made his day judging by his repsonse.

An old contact of mine came across with this list of events consisting of "90% of the German Roleplayers", according to him.

Mondays: Velvet Moon Cantina in Suywo Plains, Lok 3560/-980 at 14:00 EST

Tuesdays: Phoenix Down Cantina in Lost Haven, Tattooine -3800/7190 at 14:00 EST

Wednesdays: Newland Royal Cantina in Newland City, Tattooine -250/3670 at 1430 EST (Bi-Weekly event).

Thursdays: Outlawz in Kantara City, Tattooine -5131/-2691 at 2000 EST

Fridays: Smuggler's Inn in Kordia, Naboo -1176/3795 at 2000 EST
Also, Blue Lounge in Blizzard Dunes, Tattooine -5242/-1124 at 2000 EST

Saturdays: Gigglin Monkeyliz in Kantara City , Tattooine -5324/-2239 at 1400 EST.

Came across one advertising auf Deutsch in the Coronet Starport. He was promoting a German guild for Role Playing and PvP. I can't remember the address, but it had Black_Templer in it.

And yes, the Germans play as hard as they work and usually have a very good sense of fun. I have always enjoyed traveling in their company.

There are many more out there, but from some others i don't know if they are still active.
I may try to get a (much) more complete list of active german RP guilds during the next days, but some of these are a good start.
