We really need some of those where I live.

Offensive or not...out of the $1000.00 I pay a year in property taxes each year, 1/3 or more comes out for wellfare. When I know poor people who work 2 jobs, have kids and are bearly living who cant get wellfare and see other people with 5 kids, 1 on the way and no job getting it plus having more kids just so they can get more wellfare and WIC...then yes I pray for Minutemen.

What about all these illegals who are here not paying Social Security but then become legal and get full benifits? Tell me you agree with that?

The USA cannot help ever poor country out there or were gonna be in teh boat right next to em. At some point we gotta start thinking about ourselves.

Yeah, but you have to remember I live out in the country in North Carolina. 20 miles from any city and our property taxes are just as much as the people who LIVE IN THE CITY. We have no public water or sewer systems or anything you would get in a developed community. $1000.00 in taxes here is like $2000.00 everywhere else. I make a touch over $18.00 a hour as a computer tech, and where I live thats very middle class pay. I'd probably the equivilant to around $28.00 per hour if I were to take an educated guess.

So yeah...1k is alot of money to us.

Ok, now on to seriousness...I don't want to be the guy that sounds like a bleeding heart liberal here (being that I am typically a pretty conservative guy) but I feel the need to step in a little here....

I doubt that many people actually know how welfare really works in this country...currently (as was determined under some of Clinton's Welfare reforms I believe) a person can recieve welfare for no more than 6 years.

That's it.

And, if you are on welfare, get a job, and then lose it...it doesn't matter. 6 years period. Do some people bleed off the system? Absolutely. Do the majority of welfare users do that? I don't think so.

Now I am posting this without double checking my sources, but I believe this is what I was taught in several of my college courses. Yeah I know, universities are liberal institutions blah blah blah...that doesn't mean they are lying.

About the immigration thing...that's a different beast...I don't know much about that one.

Please, if someone is more familiar with the welfare system, let me know...

I only pray that a branch will form in my state, California. We have hospitals closing nearly every other day here because they cann't keep up with the bills created by having to treat illegal immigrants. Insurance commpanies are refussing to cover anyone living in southern California because the unpaid medical bills are passed off to every one else raising the cost of health care. Our school system is abismal due to over crowding and our state government has made it illegal for cops to ask anyone if they are citizens, and for any state worker to report an illegal imagrant to the INS. Many of the gangs rosters, like the 187th Street Gang, are illegal imigrants who commited violent crimes in their homelands. nearly half of my states budget is going to social programs that are over burdened by illegal imigrants.

The government sits and does nothing so the poeple must do what they are legally able to try to stop it.

I am for immigration as long as it is legal. Make it easier and free while still doing a background check and I'd be happy to see my tax money go to it, instead of rewarding those who ignore our sonverty.

Big difference between the city/suburbs and living in the middle of a field or woods For those of us living the rural life...$1k is alot of money. My home is 2k square ft upstairs with a 2k sq ft full basement sitting on around 4 acres of land total. My taxes last year were $846 and this year are $1032.50 which to me is BS when the county is still in debt from building a highschool back in 1967 and there no county utilites. I'll bet your avg wage per year is around 3x higher then it is here.

My white collar job pays just a tad under yours, my property taxes are 4x yours, while my suburban house and property are about half the size. Woo hoo! And I'm still not a tight-assed republican!!! Raise the taxes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hate it when people say raise taxes. If you want the government to have more of your money then send the IRS a check for however much you want and if you ever get a refund any tax year feel free to send that back too, I aint stopin ya. Just keep your hands out of my pokects so I can pay what I think the government should have out of my hard earned wadges.
